a friend and I bought two DDR dance pads a long time ago when we were in middle school.

it was a lot of fun.

This looks like it will be fun too. It's too bad all you "rockers" are too hardcore to have a little fun now and then.
You know, it's possible to have fun with a game that isn't made by Harmonix.

Somebody just suggested in the Dance Central thread they were thinking about buying Kinect just for the game. That's $210 just to have a camera tell you you vaguely matched a movement.

I'm convinced BenjaminBirdie is a tool used for evil. His ruthless enthusiasm is manipulative and sinister.

Big fucking earthquake here in San Diego...waiting to see just how big...but it lasted for quite a while.

Hopefully the house doesn't collapse and I die.

huh...5.9...not that big, I guess...just effective.
Uh... I didn't even notice it.

I also ask this too because I am a lefty and want equal rights for those of us who can't meld into right-handed society as well.
I surrendered to my right-handed overlords 28 years ago, and I haven't looked back. I did get a naturally-incredible backhand out of the deal.

I really wish that game wasn't made by HMX so everyone could stop pretending they like it.
Glad somebody said it. That entire part of the conference was awkward as shit.

Really, HMX, you were waiting for l
kinect to make your dream dancing game? Really? I know beatles bombed but surely there are better alternatives...

Go and quote something I said in the Dance Central thread and put "QFT!" or "Dave FTW!" as a reply.

It's not going to sell for a shit. GAF liking something is the kiss of death.

Nice post in the thread though!

Hey, guess what, Activision are releasing Killer Queen as DLC next month! That song from Smash Hits!

Who is excited about Jimmy Page at the Sony conference? :D :D :D

See you in December 2011. :(

Count me in as the only person in this thread extremely excited for pro mode. I'll be buying the full string guitar and everything. I'm pretty decent on the realtar but I can never seem to get the tonality on my amp correct for the various covers so the game will save me that headache.

Have they said anything about guitar tuning? Like will I constantly have to move my guitar from drop-D to drop-E back to EADGBE over to full step?

Negative. You have company. I and a couple others were excited about it as soon as it was announced.

Edit for your edit: No they haven't said anything about the real guitar as far as I know. Only the half-tar.

I hope you're right, Dave. Really, no offense to HMX over this other than the hard to swallow line of "omg we waited so long to make this game", but it's the utter hypocrisy of the internet pissing on Just Dance and jizzing on this.

Aplogies for my turn of phrase :(

I am firmly in the excited for pro mode category too. Have been since it was first announced. I am waiting for the price of the realtar though before I decide between that or the halftar.

I couldn't do the half one. It's just not the same. You're not building callous on your fingers, getting the feel of a actual guitar strings, able to bend, shake, etc. etc. etc.

Seeing you banned will bring me more joy than any amount of money.

What's your ban bet if I may be nosey?

Dave has a ban bet with himself. Apparently he is naive enough to think that Activision will export more songs from GHWT and GH:SHits by the end of the year. :lol

That is what I am thinking as well. I have a real guitar my wife bought me years ago but never really learned to use in the other room. Just a few things here and there. That is why I am excited for pro mode, the ability to actually learn something proper. The building of callouses is not what I am concerned with, but the feel of holding the string down while playing and refining technique that way. I am just waiting for the price of the realtar first. If it is too much, I will go with the halftar to learn hand movement, then go practice on my other guitar. But if the Squier is priced well enough, then I am all over that.
