The Rock Band thread is kind of it's own little world. I wonder if it might be good to have a brand new thread for when RB3 hits. At the same time, I want this thread to keep growing. Is it already past the record for largest gaf thread ever?

Interesting. Having been a bit out of the loop, I'm not aware of the details for this community. Mind giving an overview?


I'm pretty sure I'd love to join, since I'm planning on being ALL IN for RB3. Using my MIDI keyboard, getting a Roland TD-9SX for drums, and either purchasing the Squier for guitar and bass ... or if 'real' MIDI guitars end up being accessible, potentially doing a MIDI guitar and/or bass. :lol

We have a lot of lurkers from gaf and non members though, a lot of people are afraid to post or something. Basically this thread consists of about 20 or so regulars and most of the time we don't talk about rock band, but we all really like it and most of us play it frequently.

It's backwards for me. I can beat Hangar 18 with smart star power use, but fail miserably on Tornado of Souls on the too-fucking-fast-ahhhhh!-my hands solo.

Let Me Hear You Scream is fucking phenomenal on guitar. The solo is messy but nothing star power doesn't fix. Diggin' Me Down is fun too. It goes from acoustic shit to 1/16th quadruplets.

No More Tears was just depressing because it's not in RB3.

Which was all released pre-E3 for those of us in this thread paying attention If there's any new info from the E3 show we really haven't seen it...

When Harmonix said "wait for more info at E3" I'm sure they included the 5 days before E3 in their "E3" timeframe.

I think it was a great marketing move to let USA publish the article on the web that basically unveiled Rock Band 3 to the world. They chose to unleash all this info a few days before E3 - that way they could get more attention since there wouldn't be Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo conferences to talk about as well as hundreds of other games to talk about.

We now know 22 songs that will be in the game which is more than 25% of the setlist. We've seen demos of Pro Guitar and Pro Keys.
