Rockstar has remastered every 3D mainline GTA except for one...

Will Rockstar remaster GTA IV?

The 20th anniversary is in 3 years. People said Red Dead Redemption 1 would never be remastered/ported, then it suddenly was. Do you see a IV remaster/remake happening?

Edit, I need the thread to be aware of this:
Are they going to put Grove Street Games on it? Because if so, that is a no.
Grove Street Games is already working on remastering GTA IV.
Those games need a complete remake, the top down view is too awkward to play. Probably too much effort for GroveStreet games
Grove Street Games has been removed from the definitive edition's credit and they no longer associate with each other

The boogeyman you guys fear is gone. We can move on from this and instead focus on the team who remastered RDR 1 as an example moving forward.

No reason for them to release a "new" GTA game only 2 years after the main one released.

They want to focus everything on GTA6 the first couple of years and taking away potential revenue seems like bad business.

GTAV "remasters" were settings changes more than anything.
If they can do that with GTAV I dont see why they couldnt do that with GTAIV.

They're gonna keep our balls nice and blue until VI lands, and after the hype fizzles out and they start printing money on online, then they'll do IV remastered to get some of that single-player crowd money.

I will be there as long as they dont cut any content/dont make game "for modern audience", niko is slavic so as a polish guy i have place for him deep in my heart, even his accent feels kinda similar, and ofc the mindset =D

A Polish guy having a Serbian guy deep in his heart, that's something I thought I'd never read

U would be surprised how similar our nation's languages are with all former yugoslavia countries, this one time online i met serbian guy in his 50s who barely could talk english and we simply communicated using english/polish and english/serbian combo just fine, lots of words are similar :)

After GTA VI comes out, they'll be resuming the remake work that was being done during the pandemic -- but halted by 2022 in order to focus the entire company on GTA VI -- in order to probably get it out the door by the anniversary in 2028.

Would be a good way to capitalize on the success of GTA VI, as well as on a +120M PS5 install base, most of which might have never played the original.

Hope the GTA6 delay will push the release of a RDR2 and GTA4 remaster but Rockstar it's Rockstar...

Not exactly a full "remaster" but GTA IV can be played at 60fps on either Series console, albeit still at 720p.

The original X360 version ran with an unlocked frame rate and the new consoles just brute force it to 60 in BC mode.

Or, just buy the PC version on Steam for $7 and have mods that take it to the next level.

They seemingly give the least fucks about IV so I doubt it ever gets a remaster. At most a half-assed port.

GTA 4.... Ahh man the memories with that gem.

It was the first GTA in "next gen" and it's hype felt like GTA 6 level. It got delayed till Spring 2008.

Couple weeks before it's release, it was leaked, someone was streaming it somewhere, yes you could stream in 2008.

But man that game to me looked so realistic. Stunning game. Physics like that had never been seen before in a game. If you stood on a sidewalk in a way, one foot would be on it, the other foot would be lower on the road. Just madness what it did.

True, though I've noticed there's a lot of people who want / need multiple mods to restore the lighting and some effects from the X360 version that were not in the PC version.

I guess for someone who wants a better performing of the OG experience, that option is still there.

Just run this mod setup and be done.

Gamers do complain about the many remasters and remakes in the current gaming industry. They want new games and new experiences.
That is exactly what Rockstar is trying with GTA VI. Let GTA IV alone, it was not that great, it was just okay.

60fps is nice but I mean this is nothing even vaguely resembling a remaster.

Yeah, not a reamster, just the same game running at higher performance. For the purists who want the original just not running at the shitty unstable frame rate it did back on the PS3/360.

They started work on it, along with the RDR2 remaster, and then canceled it. However, the RDR1 remaster ended up coming out.

You can have both.

The reason that group of gamers complain is because they are the same ones who always think that the main dev teams are working on modern day remasters and remakes. 9 times out of 10 they are different teams and those gamers are uninformed.
