Rocky 6 is finally coming!

Sylvester Stallone will direct and reprise his role as Rocky Balbao in the sixth installment of the boxing franchise, reports Production Weekly.

In the film, lonely and retired boxer Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement, intending to fight a few low-profile local fights just to keep his hand in. But when he's approached to fight a match with reigning heavyweight champ Mason "The Line" Dixon, Rocky's modest little comeback becomes the center of a media firestorm.

Rocky 6 is scheduled to begin filming early December in Los Angeles.

Maybe he will finally kill off Rocky like he wanted to in the 5th one. Rocky was supposed to die at the end but the studio wasnt having it.
 
Wow a rocky six. This is really big news for me, I've been a huge fan of the series. Regardless if the character dies or not, I'm sure this movie can'tt be too bad. :D

I remember hearing so from I don't know where. There will be the Manfredo/Sergio rematch though that Stallone pushed from round 1 of the first :lol

I was hoping to see Rocky to train his son as a boxer, as one script had happening a few years ago. But I guess Rocky giving a few more blows is easier to sell. And hell, it isn't like middle-age comebacks in boxing is an unrealistic storyline. :lol

i was gonna laugh at the name Mason The Line Dixon, but it pretty much falls in line with names like Clubber Lang and Apollo Creed. If they can make him as much of a badass as those two, this might be worth watching.

Here's something that I typed up a little over a year ago. Enjoy.

Here's the rumored plots for the next 3 Rocky films.

Rocky 6 - Rocky's brain damage continues to grow worse. Rocky begins to hallucinate. He keeps having chats with Apollo Creed's ghost. Fearing for her husband's sanity, Adrian has Rocky placed in a mental institution. While in the sanitarium, Rocky runs into Thunderlips. You see Thunderlips has had a mental break down. Unfortunately while Rocky is in the mental institution, Paulie dies of Cirrhosis of the liver. Rocky is devastated by the news and tries to fight his way out of the mental institution. There is a huge fight between Rocky and Thunderlips. Rocky receives a blow to the head that cures his brain damage. Rocky is released from the institution. Rocky gives a speech that cures mental disabilities across the globe.

Rocky 7 - Rocky and Adrian are reunited. But now they face an avalanche of Medical bills and debt. Rocky and Tommy Gunn meet up again and become friends. Tommy Gunn is very sick though due to HIV (the actual boxer actually has HIV). Rocky begins a huge legal battle with the HMO's. Rocky ends up testifying before congress on HMO's. During Rocky's testimony Tommy dies. Rocky is devastated by his former foe and now friend's death. The government sees Rocky as a threat. The Governor of Philadelphia places a call to California. Rocky agrees to one last fight. It’s Rocky versus the Governor of California in a boxing match right in the middle of the Capitol. The Governor of California walks out to the ring dressed as famous composer Bach. There's a huge fight that goes several rounds. Rocky hits the Governor so hard that he lands in his home country of Austria. Rocky then gives a speech that fixes HMO's, Health insurance, and the social security crisis.

Rocky 8 - Rocky and Adrian are separated. The financial mess is too much for them. Rocky's medical bills have been settled but he's still deep in debt and he's going to fix this problem the only way he knows how... with his fist. The current champion, Lance the Bull (played by the Rock) challenges Rocky to a fight. If Rocky wins he will make enough money to pay off his debts and get his house back and more importantly Adrian. Rocky agrees to one final fight. During Rocky's training another tragedy occurs. The beloved family robot dies. Rocky is devastated and pushes himself even harder. Finally it’s the night of the big fight. The fight goes several rounds. Finally Rocky knocks out Lance and is declared the champion. Rocky has won. He is reunited with Adrian and retires from boxing again or at least until the next batch of movies.

Adrian won't be in Rocky 6. She died of cancer.
 
Stallone said the story has the aging, widowed Rocky initially refusing a chance to get back in the ring.

"There's a computer fight between the reigning world champion and Balboa, and Balboa wins," he said.

"The champion's management says let's do this for real, for charity. Rocky says no but decides to be true to himself even though he's going to be berated by everyone. Just to compete, not to win."

Stallone said former heavyweight champion Roy Jones Jr. is in talks to play Rocky's opponent, Mason Dixon.

The rest of the cast will likely be unknowns, he said.

This is the first approved movie for MGM since Sony acquired it... chances of another videogame?

Be interesting to see if it's a multi-platform game this time around....guess it depends on who owns the VG license...

This movie should be called Rocky 5, because that abomination of a film should be erased from all future boxsets.
 
I liked Rocky 5 because it felt more like the first two movies. It had more personal moments. Rocky 1, 2, & 5 seemed to be more about Stallone's character and his interactions with family/friends than they were about the fights, at least to me.

I kinda wish they weren't making this one because Rocky 5 brought the entire series full circle. That...and the fact that
Adriane won't be in it b/c she died of cancer? WTF? Why are they pulling a T3? Did Talia Shire just not want to be in the movie or were they just not interested in having her character come back? If they want to kill her off they should at least show her dying at the beginning of the movie so that there is some closure to the character.

Rocky 1 > Rocky 2 > Rocky 5 > Rocky 3 > Rocky 4...for me at least.
 
I'm glad talia shire isnt in it. She aged horribly. Giving birth to Jason Schwarztman must have warper her body irreperably.


Sounds good. To me, Rocky 1 is in a different universe than 2, 3, 4 and 5. The sequels are all horrible for being the exact same movie. But that's not saying I don't think that they arent' all awesome either. They all have their moments, but Rocky 1 is right up their with films like Godfather and Pulp Fiction as classics.

That reminds me: I work with this one girl who is absolutely obsessed with Rocky. She gets SUPER excited during the fights and actually yells "go rocky, go!". it's hilarious. She's going to be thrilled to hear about this.
 
Well, I am sure they can make Stallone look younger and I am sure he will be in pretty good shape.


A movie like this could be good if done right.

Unfortunately, people will look at this as another Rocky movie thus will probably not get much attention, even if it turned out real good.

I have the box sets. Entertaining movies but got a little to much after the 2nd one.
