Rocky 6 is finally coming!

I was watching Rocky 5 a few days ago and you know what... I found it to be pretty good. I think stallone is the only 'Old Gen' action star who can actually act ( among Van Damme, Lungren, Arnold, etc).

The Rocky where he fights the Russian is disappointing. It was too short and the build up to the final fight in Moscow should have been handled better. What should have happened is that there should have been two fights with Rocky and the Russian, the Russian wins the first one and then against all odds Rocky overcomes adversity and all that stuff to win the rematch. That this did not occur is something I found to be a let down.

From imdb.com

Sylvester Stallone is sparring with boxing champ Roy Jones Jr. because he wants the fighter to sign up for his Rocky VI movie. The movie star wants the heavyweight champ to play fictional champion Mason 'The Line' Dixon in the film, which Stallone will write, direct and star in. Meanwhile, Stallone has an initial title for his sixth Rocky film - Rocky Balboa. Shooting is scheduled to begin in December in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the film is slated to be released next November. The movie star insists Rocky fans will see a few familiar faces in the movie: "People that were in the first movie, that you didn't think much about, are back - really minor characters are now major characters."

I really wonder if there is a chance to try and bring this series back to its former glory, or at least close to it.... I mean no Talia Shire would be weird, but hopefully Paulie will be back.

yeah, but wasn't it awesome how Rocky helped subvert communism in ussr, which lead to it's eventual collapse in 1991??

it known as the Italian-Stalionism Revolution these days.

If Sly Stallone is smart, he would make Rocky 6 an allegory for globalization. Some kind of social commentary on the outsourcing of american jobs. Maybe Rocky should fight an indian!

Better yet, much like Rambo single handedly won the vietnam war, rocky could go to iraq and they could have rocky beat everyone of the national insurgents to death with his bare hands!

awesome!

I have seen Rocky 5 plenty of times and I don't understand how anyone can like it.

Uh, okay?

I only see movies multiple times if I like them.

Rocky 5 is a shitty movie, but I find some of it enjoyable. Something can be horrible and you can still enjoy watching it. See Roadhouse for the ultimate proof of this. One of the worst movies ever and yet somehow also one of the best.

Let it be known that if they don't die at the end then there's always the possibility they will make another movie. Shut sometimes they do die but they want to continue the movie franchise...Ripley died in Alien 3 but they brought her back for Resurrection :) ...we can look for another Alien movie in the next two years :lol

Rocky IV blew chunks. Only Rocky 1-3 are worth watching.

I want to see a sequel to the Orange Julius skit from SNL

Very underrated skit!

Customer (Will Ferrell): I run a small business out of my home, and I'm looking for a personal computer with a Pentium Processor.

Leon (Sylvester Stallone): Well, this computer over here really kicks ass. So, will that be cash or charge?

Customer: Th-this is nice, but it doesn't have a Pentium Processor.

Leon: No, but you got to ask yourself, in 1997, who really needs one of those Pa-sonium Pa-cess-isers?

Customer: Pentium Processors. And, yes, I do.

Leon: Yeah, but this computer is boss! [ mumbles ]

Customer: It may be boss, but I need a Pentium Processor. Do you even know what one is?

Leon: Well.. I-I worked in this store since it was an Orange Julius, so.. no, I don't..

Leon: No, I forget sometimes.. you see, my old manager at the Orange Julius is named Doug, and, uh.. anyway, I think I should tell you, the.. uh.. computer you're looking at is for gays.

Customer: What?!

Leon: Gays, gays, gays, gays.. [ looking around the store ] You know what you want? You want one of these computers over here where the food comes out of, you know? It's right here.. [ points to a vending machine ] This is a "Star Trek" computer..

Customer: That's.. that's a vending machine..

Leon: No, no, no.. it's a very tricky computer. If you push A-1, these chips come out like that. But you have to be very smart to operate it, because.. uh.. you have to be kind of like Captain Clark.

Customer: You mean, Captain Kirk.

Leon: [ thinking about it ] Clark. Captain Clark. [ pause ] Do you want an Orange Julius?

I think its sad that ALOT of people have never seen the original Rocky. They write off the whole franchise because of the way the media portrayed the sequels. They are all good (except 5) but the original is one of the greatest movies of all time.

Roy Jones is out already?

With the recent announcement that Sylvester Stallone will reprise his role as legendary boxing champion Rocky Balboa, BoxingTalk.com now claims to know who he'll be facing in the the sixth installment.

Moments ago light heavyweight king Antonio Tarver informed Boxingtalk.com that his representatives are in the final stages of negotiations for a deal that would land Tarver the role of Mason Dixon in the eagerly anticipated Rocky 6, which begins filming shortly. Sylvester Stallone will play Rocky Balboa, and Tarver will co-star as heavyweight champion Mason Dixon.

Stallone is also writing and producing Rocky Balboa, in which the character is drawn back to the boxing ring one last time, challenged by a powerful new champion - Mason Dixon.

Terrible idea, this franchise should have been killed after Rocky 1.

Man, as much as I don't think the sequels measure up to the original, the shear cultural impact of the sequels (excluding 5) cannot be denied!!

-Thunderlips, Ivan Drago, Eye of the Tiger, Final Countdown, Mr T., etc.....it is just not deniable!!!

I would be willing to bet 50 cents that he dies in the ring. Million Dollar Baby must have convinced the studio to let it happen. Still, if they had let it happen in 5 the package would have been perfect.

I think they are going to surprise us and have Rocky beat "The Line" to death.

Fucking right.

I was hoping to see Rocky to train his son as a boxer, as one script had happening a few years ago. But I guess Rocky giving a few more blows is easier to sell. And hell, it isn't like middle-age comebacks in boxing is an unrealistic storyline. :lol

Rocky fighting his own son would kick ass.

Only if he beat him to death.

*LOL*

I was going to add: The title of the movie should be "The Death of Rocky".

But I wonder if you mean the kid dies...I think Rocky should die. Because that would mean a part 7 with some zombie action.

Are you telling me...that they should make a movie...where Rocky...as a Zombie...let me finish...eats legions of people to death?

That's brilliant!
