Rogue Galaxy trailer

Whoops, didn't know there was a thread dedicated to the trailer. Guess I'll just paste what I posted in the other thread, then:

Huh, from all the impressions, I figured it'd be another turn-based affair, but it's actually an Action/RPG with AI-controlled allies? Well! I'm up for that. I just hope they can provide some quality AI for the allies, or this could take a turn for the worse very quickly. :P

Still, though, it looks great from that trailer, and seems to be pushing for a much more cinematic approach than the Dark Cloud titles, so maybe it'll be less dungeon-crawly and more story-focused. Either way, I'm there, as Level 5 hasn't disappointed me yet. :)

Looks great. Let's hope they can keep up the characterizations and storyline as much as the epic values of the graphics look.

Hooray for another non-turn based RPG!

no but seriously, who owns level 5? Cause they seem to make only sonly exclusive games. Also, since sony is publishing this, it makes it sony property even if level 5 is 3rd party correct?

They made games for Sony, MS, and Squarenix.

Any of them will be smart to buy this company should the chance arise, imo.

Yah he knows something. He was the one that let on about Warhawk before E3 started.

MassiveAttack what's with that artwork for that PSP game that you posted not too long ago? The one that kind of looked like a western.

Wait till TGS is all I can say for now. And the PSP game isn't a western (thank god). :)

This looks like it has huge production values. I don't think Sony would pay out that much for a dungeon crawler considering they usually aren't that popular. This seems more like their effort to establish a serious big budget RPG to lead into next gen.
*cough*Legend of Dragoon*cough*

Wait, what? A Level 5 PSP game is coming? And it will be shown at TGS?! Woooooooo! :D

Holy crap that looks very nice. The cel shading in the cut scenes is awesome and yeah, kudos to the free battle system.

Massive, do you still visit tenchu.de at all?

Sholmes, yes I do. Selenia is a close friend of mine. She's actually moving to Japan in September to work for Acquire as an intern.

But I'm no longer involved with Tenchu. It's in From's hands now... take that as you will.

It's K2 vs. Acquire for ninja stealth supremacy. I've got close friends on both teams so I won't make any judgements but Shinobido is going to have to be damn good to make people forget about Tenchu. Tenchu next-gen is already in development... Now if only From would give K2 a reasonable budget and schedule.

Wow, really interesting stuff.
But is a sequel to Dark Cloud or Rogue Galaxy or a completely new project?

Wow this looks great! And thats coming from a guy who does not like manga style very much.

Keeping an eye on this for sure, and Ill be keeping an eye on Level 5 overall, DC2 is one of the best RPGs I have played. Great developer.

That Shinobido game sounds pretty badass, though the graphics a wee bit lacking. When's it due? I imagine Atlus or a similar publisher will bring it over?

Good point. Dark Cloud 3 rumors were all the rage earlier in the year but they have all but fizzled out! :(

Today, Sony Computer Entertainment revealed that we may have been wrong on both accounts. A mystery title is actually in development for the PSP, which may mean that the dazzling concept image of Level-5's "Next RPG" could come to life on the portable instead of the PS2. Additionally, the game is an original RPG, which rules out a sequel to Dark Cloud.

So no Dark Cloud for PSP.

While, I would love Dark Cloud 3 (Just recently beat 2)
I'm more then happy with this for level 5's next project :)

Man, Sony should try to keep Level-5 on PS3 as hard as possible....
Seems like they're doing that themselves. Only tried making a single game not on the Playstation family, one that MS was funding entirely, and it still got canned.

I would think SCE would be interested in a purchase, but Square Enix probably would as well, and the pedegree that L5 has displayed this generation probably makes them very expensive. Comprable to Tri-Ace I'd bet, though I don't know what Enix payed for the partial ownership they picked up.

Honestly, Sony could use to lock up a lot of their second party partners, L5, Insomniac, and Sucker Punch obviously head the list.
