Roguelite GAF, what are your favorite roguelites games?

Hades.

There is a super high barrier to entry on these for me. Basically they don't get fun until I'm learning phases on the second boss, but Hades did it perfectly. Plenty of other great ones but the narrative in Hades gave me a reason to push thru.

To this day I cannot get my brother to play these. He just hates the concept of starting over fresh each time(even though you actually don't). I think rogue-anything is a pretty divisive genre to be honest.

Ravenswatch at the moment. Put in about 90 hours now in total in both co-op and solo. Closely followed by the usual suspects like Hades, Risk of Rain, Slay the Spire, etc.

How is Ravenswatch solo? I like the look of it and enjoyed their other game Curse of the Dead Gods, but I'm just worried it's heavily designed around co-op to the detriment of a single player and I would have no one to play this type of game with. But then I also read there is matchmaking too, do you have any experience with that?

It's 50% off on Steam right now so might pull the trigger, would love your feedback.

I grabbed it. It looks interesting.

I'd say Balatro has been my top pick, Returnal, Shiren the Wanderer, and Half-Minute Hero are some of favorite rogue like. I have Darkest Dungeon II, but I haven't spent a ton of time with it. Hades 1 & 2 are good, but I don't ever feel like playing them again.

Hi I'm Ultrazilla and I'm a roguelite addict.

Some of my favorites. All installed and in rotation!

Be WARNED. Tiny Rogues will STEAL YOUR SOUL! IT'S SOOOO GOOD!! :lollipop_fire::lollipop_baby_angel::lollipop_bomb:

I tried it tonight and started as the Pied Piper. So far it's been a lot of fun. How does saving work if I want to turn it off? I gained a couple levels and then had to shut it down.

I also bought this. Very cool design. Reminds me of a ton of retro arcade games smashed into one. 👍

It's kind of weird as at the moment solo is easier (and I'm playing on the second to highest difficulty to unlock all the achievements). It's both very enjoyable in solo or co-op (perhaps even better in singleplayer).

Have never used the matchmaking in it though but the discord is very active in that respect.
