Such nonsense. One might as well say Fed gifted this set to Gulbis after having failed to convert set point on a overhead.

Gulbis had the initial lead in both sets (as well as in both tiebreaks). Gulbis was the one gifting the lead away.

Also, Gulbis returned that smash. It's not like he missed it or something.

I don't know why people are pretending that Gulbis isn't a quality player or something.

Just because you have a early lead In a set doesn't mean you should win that set. There is a reason they play to 6 games not just to the first break.

Eh, I think Gulbis is a quality player though by the way you are speaking you would think he was up against a mug.

I shot people I like more for less.

MIMIC hates Federer as much as he loves Gulbis/Djokovic. Federer could save him from a burning building while Gulbis stood by and had a smoke, and he'd still post about how cool Gulbis looked so he wouldn't have to offer Fed a compliment.

These days it's frustrating to watch Fed play. I remember how solid he was, capitalizing on every chance he got. He seems so flimsy nowadays.

correct about everything
got to admit, really surprised how solid gulbis has been. i think he made only one unforced error in the third.

berdych will probably school him, tho.

That's probably the biggest disappointment. Maybe he'll actually back up a win with a win if he makes it through. Not seeing any reason why he wouldn't at this point barring a ridiculous collapse.

Looks like on the brink of defeat, Fed might have found a winning formula. He's taking the ball earlier on the forehand, hitting more to Gulbis's forehand, and using more variety. Hope he can keep it up.

based on MIMIC logic federer has now won this set and can only gift it back.

but let's face it, he probably will.

if federer serves this out it will be an interesting scoreline. 7-6, 6-7, 2-6, 6-2. no idea how the fifth would go.
