Looks like Dead Reckoning has a new title!

"Over at the official Diamond Dead website, Cameron Romero wrote the following, "Romero does acknowledge, however, that there's a very good chance that the initial release version of LAND OF THE DEAD will not have the same freedoms as his original, unrated DAWN OF THE DEAD and DAY OF THE DEAD. "The producers want major distribution, so I'm sure that the first release version, in this country anyway, will have to be R-rated. I don't think they'll want to go NC-17. But they're gonna let me shoot the film the way I want to, and they'll let me do the cutbacks for release. Hopefully the fans will still show up, and then see the [unrated] edition later on video."

Better than the original title I gues and at least now it'll fit in with the rest of the series more...

As long as the fucking movie gets made.

We're one step closer to seeing it in theaters now. I'm still hoping this finally gets done, and the wishful thinker in me is praying for Evil Dead 4.

The name itself is pretty old news. The comments sound good, though. I remember reading that Day of the Dead's budget was severely slashed when he wouldn't agree to make it rated R. That he make multiple cuts for multiple ratings seems like a decent compromise.

Perhaps you are thinking of Children of the Living Dead? It's not so much a sequel to Day of the Dead, as it is an alternate sequel to Night of the Living Dead, produced by the other writer of the original Night of the Living Dead, John Russo. I've not seen it, but it's supposed to be godwaful.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Day of the Dead wasn't exactly spectacular, nor were any of Romero's later films. It's been a long, long time since his Martin and Dawn of the Dead days, but here's hoping he's still got another good zombie flick in him...

You wanted walk out out of the Dawn of the Dead movie but you want another shitty Evil Dead movie? It all makes sense now.

Wow, bizarre.

*watches trailer at official site*
Also bizarrely poorly acted.

I find it interesting how even though we all consider Night/Dawn/Day as part of the same series, the only real connections are the specific zombie rules being used and the fact that the dead are taking over. Separate enough, though, that the rights for each seem to have shot off in different directions, creating tangential movies.

Is the trailer even worth watching?
