Another victory for Jeff "eight point eight" Gertsmann
This frightens me
Another victory for Jeff "eight point eight" Gertsmann
Probably worth mentioning the founder of RT seems to have a lot of respect for Gerstmann, and they've been on each other's panels. This looks like an uninformed cosplayer said something dumb, and the other guys went with it.
Even the RT community savaged them over it. Here's Ryan's response in their subreddit where he doubles-down (check the downvotes)
Do you have any examples of this?

Lol, at "I'd never heard of him" in reference to Jeff Gerstmann. Seriously? What an idiot. So he has the nerve to call out Jeff, or insinuate, that they reviewed the game low for clicks. When Jeff lost his job for reviewing a crap game low when the big money suits wanted otherwise.
The story of Jeff Gerstmann and his firing at Gamespot should be Gaming Journalism 101 and anyone that wants to working in gaming, from the "journalism" side, would know who Jeff was if they took their job seriously in the least bit.
They've definitely talked shit about European press before.
You do realise Jeff doesn't even hate Yoshi right. He just sees Yoshi as a utility you can freely discard. His supposed hate for the character is just a joke. Jesus Christ man.and I especially dislike Gerstmann and his imbecilic meme inducing Yoshi hate, but this shit by Rooster Teeth might just be the most moronic thing I have ever seen.
Didn't Rooster Teeth host the YouTube stage at E3 this year? Not like they are some unknown company...
They are a production company now and bigger than they have ever been. I love them to death but they need to shhhhh on this one.
You can debate whether you think it is true or not, bit it seemed like a pretty valid criticism to me. I think there really is an incentive for some reviewers to rate lower in order to gain attention. A big pet peeve to me are the ones who claim they are the ones doing it correctly because they treat 5/10 as average and use the whole scale. That's just silly because the meaning of the scale is what people think it means, not your mathematical assessment of it. If you are using a 10 point scale to convey some meaning then it makes no sense to use an interpretation of the scale that few people recognize. At that point you are just doing it to be different.
On ghe other hand, I looked up Gerstmann's review and he gave Fallout 4 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe I am missing something but that isn't a low review score.
Typical. Put another person's name in your mouth to get pub.

I'm not familiar with the specific review in question and I have no idea if the Rooster Teeth comments were off base in this circumstance, but
Have you seen GB's bomb? It's not that large. Certainly wouldn't call it giant.Roosters don't have teeth. They are birds (except in China). They have beaks.

They seem to not like www.gamebomb.ru
No surprise seeing as Jeff Gerstmann ripped off gamebomb, and on top of that, gamebomb have their reviews out months, sometimes full years, before giantbomb and the rest of the press.
Are you serious? They are sitting decked out in F4 paraphernalia. Having made Fallout 4 advertisement videos. Waxing lyrical about how awesome they think the game is.
They are literally -
*snip*
paid shills.
And I dont even like Giantbomb.
They actually had Jeff on as a guest which makes it all the more puzzling that they would say they don't know him.
I used to listened to the patch but dropped off. boy did it get bad quick.
That's more of a joke than anything else.
In terms of parent companies, Rooster Teeth certainly has Giantbomb beat.Lol? I disagree with what they said but I don't think Jeff is gonna give RT any substantial publicity. They're pretty fucking huge compared to GB.
Didnt know Meg Turney was a "gaming personality". Thought she was some sort of "nerd underwear model" if thats a thing
(technical performance is REALLY important in games, is it not?)

Nice response from Jeff. I don't always agree with him, but at least he doesn't sound like a complete shill. I liked RT back in the day, but stopped following them years ago. Didn't know they ended up like this. Sounds way different from how the Drunk Tank used to be.
And Jeff had Bernie on their stage! And they seemed to have a ton of mutual respect for one another, even saying it was amazing they had never met but they always respected one another as industry vets, even if its slightly diffferent industries.
This right here is a bummer. I wish I could hear Bernie talk on it. I have a shit load of respect.
