So if any of you realies have been haunting the okcupid thread (holla, Exodus and Lead), you might know that I have a new girlfriend now. And she's absolutely entirely my match. It's really unreal how comfortable I am around her.

I'm going to be seeing her again on Wednesday night, so when I do, I will get you guys pictures for this thread (and crosspost to that one). Then you guys can see how happy we are. :)
I'm happy for you!

Anchorman-The Legend of Ron Burgundy quotes are the best quotes.

"They've done studies you know. 60% of the time, [the sex panther cologne] works...every tiiiime."

I want to see Lissar and Cheska <3

I need closer girl friends ;~;

Awwww. <3

The only place I've heard of signs like these are in military towns. Never actually seen them myself.

For those of you who want to go to Japan, it's far more foreigner friendly than it was even a decade ago. I hope you enjoy it if you do get a chance to go.

I want to go everywhere. :o EVERYWHERE! :O At the moment though I'd really like to visit the UK or India.

Oh man, so sleepy...

I watched it in some stores, clubs, karaokes, adult shops, and some other wanttoenter:_(sniff places, but well I'm not criticizing it. I love to travel everywhere, too, Is the thing I mostly waste my money XD.

Well, I lived there for years and never saw a sign like that. I'm not saying they don't exist (obviously) just that they aren't that common and your average person visiting has nothing to worry about.

Also, not that Japan ISN'T racist as hell, but that's a conversation for another day.

Forget Pewpewgrittyrealbrown 3, I'm gonna go play some Teenangstsavetheworld 5! :O

Oh I don't think they're racist, I think they (japanese society) have some kind inferiority complex and imho for a "nerdy" trip obviously Japan is a great place, but when I travel I prefer to visit and make whatever people from there do, not the tourist things usually have nothing to do with the place, places are the people (habits, food, party, social) not the landside XD.

You are? I would have never guessed that. You look a little bit like Ed Helms.

I think my hints might have given it away; my mother has this old Dominican cook book in the kitchen. So I'm mostly Dominican mixed just a little bit of Cuban (mother's half Dominican, half Cuban, father's full Dominican). Right now I'm using the Knorr one with achiote and cilantro.

A rice cooker that cooks the perfect rice; go figure. White rice gets tiring after a white so that's why I like to switch it up.

hahaha I'm Colombian.

I don't cook for other people, just for myself. Puertorricans don't like how rice is moisty after using a rice cooker. Whatever.

However, they are crazy when I do Colombian Arepas and Buñuelos for breakfast.

Nah, Japan is pretty racist. And they lead people to think they feel inferior but they are actually pretty sure they're superior to everyone else (in the oddest ways. Some people in Japan are pretty damn sure they're the only country in the world that has four seasons.)

:o I guess it's not too surprising that I haven't seen this one get posted in the funny pics thread. D:

Those are some free textbooks you can read if you want something to do while you can't take the class. :D

Also for physical textbooks I liked Language: Its Structure and Use. If you go for the 5th edition you can get a copy for around $7. :o I have a few more textbooks that are good for beginning stuff, but I don't want to overburden you.

Something going on with Avatars today? I was going to join in on this fun, but alas..

Went to our local music shop with a friend. While we're looking at a last section, we see DJ Shadow walk in and check out the one new box of records for a bit and then leave.

It took a lot not to make a fool of myself.

I see. I have a friend who I go to school with who's Colombian. He's gonna go down there pretty soon to Barranquilla. I told him to bring me a bottle of Colombian rum. I also met a Colombian chick off the internet last summer; it just one date though; no chemistry unfortunately.

One of these days a girl is gonna want you to cook for her as date if you bring it up so be ready for it. Women love guys that can cook a decent meal as Maxrpg shows. I like other people to taste my stuff so I know if it's good or bad; second opinions are always good. Rice cookers suck away all the nutrients from the rice, so that why stove top is the best way to go.

They look so much more different from Dominican Arepas. Ours are dry square cakes with cinnamon and raisin, but they're so good whenever my mother makes them. I have yet to learn to make them.

Every time I go the Dominican Republic though, I always make sure to eat as well as bring back Coconetes (hit stop so it won't redirect you; that site is the mecca of Dominican cooking). Those things are to die for. I remember I ate an entire stash of one from my grand parents' food pantry when I was young. I get reminded of over there every time I eat one here in New York.

I think I've had buñuelos before; they taste very interesting. I thought it was going to be sweet, but then I realized it tasted like cheese which was surprising.
linguist llama is awesome

so true
Hahaha, I completely agree. I do it all the time when I overhear tourists talking on the subway or in the streets.

This one is so true because it makes me cringe when people do this on Facebook or via text (I'm an ex English major):

I have yet to see the world beyond the Western Hemisphere. I've only been to the Dominican Republic. I'm pretty intrigued by Japan and would love to go to Australia. I heard Australian ketchup isn't quite the same as Western ketchup. I'd also love to try kangaroo meat out since I heard it's pretty good and it a ton of nutrients.

Been neglecting this thread for the past couple days. How is everyone?

And on the subject of travel, I wanna go to India. I wanna try the food all over the country and try on some of the gorgeous clothes.

Holi! I could always tell when it was happening because all my Indian soap operas had entire episodes dedicated to it.

I mean, I'm sure I'm romanticizing it a bit in my head but it seems like such an interesting and beautiful country to visit.

I would love to to something like Top Gear did in their Vietnam and South America specials. Or like ewan mccgregor and charley boorman did in long way round.
