Love the second. Dreamworks kinda killed Shrek and Madagascar with the sequels, but they did their homework with HTTAD and KFK so far.

Err I don't remember him ruining an emotional scene.

Not sure if he is referring to that, but the rooftop scene pre-showdown was played unnecessary long for laughs.

Im surprised I thought KP2 was considered a box office dissapointment?

Over 600 million. And merchandise is obviously huge with this franchise. Add in that the next one has the chinese market, and you have easily a 1 billion dollar franchise.

I am literally trembling in excitement about this... This is the first I've ever heard of that!

Also Mikkelsen

Between the first and second HTTYD films the Chinese gross opening week increased 5 fold. If it is anything similar with KFP..... the gross will be massive.

I havent seen the movie since it came out in theaters but I remember one of the scenes near the end of the movie with all the ships, and theres fire and then Po does something awesome and theres dramatic music and then he cracks a stupid joke and ruins the mood. He does that a few times.

I still liked the film but I thought stuff like that was unnecessarry. I guess kids like those jokes *shrug*

Which one? The one where he shows up with a straw hat? I thought it was more of a joke pointing out on how ludicrous it would be since that set up is used a lot, and that it would really be difficult for the listener to hear what he says.

Or is it the cannonball redirection scene? I thought it was short and fits his character (it was his first time doing it). And it really has a nice set up (he clears the fire by dousing it with his mouth... despite being surrounded by water)

Yeah I noticed people saying that. Didn't really bother me though.

I disagree on Madagascar, 1 and 2 are crap but Europe's Most Wanted kicks the first and Africa easily.

I think they're both fantastic, but I will say that I would've preferred if Po wasn't so Jack Black-ish. I think they could've toned that down a little bit or at least played it goofy in a different way (I've got no ideas). I really hate "ska-doosh"

He was only Jack Black in the first half of the first film. It slowly vanished later on.

I really love the first one. The second one is still pretty great, but idk something about it felt a bit... safe (maybe that's not the proper word but that's the one that comes to mind).

I wouldn't really call 2 safe. If anything, I think 2 was the moment were they went all out because "all right, Po is now a learned martial artist so we can finally do things to him!" That's why they have that amazing tower escape scene. And even small but great ones, like getting Master Croc and Ox out of prison.

One of the most fun movies I've ever watched. Animation is top notch. Can't wait for the next one.

The jokes are really good as well!

Also.
Po: Dad, there's something you should know. While I was gone, I found the village where I was born. I found out how I came to be in that radish crate.
Mr. Ping: You did?
Po: I know who I am.
Mr. Ping: You do?

Po: ...I'm your son.

I love you, Dad.

Mr. Ping: I love you too, son.

i love the first one. it always puts a smile on my face when i watch it. the second one is ok. i'm pretty sure i have the 3d blu ray for it. i should watch it in 3d sometime.

I love the Kung Fu Panda movies. I remember being really excited when I heard they were making a sequel...and now I'm equally as excited that a third one is set to come out next year. :)

Shrek I can agree, but Madagascar?

The first Madagascar is a weak movie. The second is a best film and the third is the best Madagascar movie made and close flawless the trilogy.

About KFP, it is easy one of the best DreamWorks animations. The sequel is not as good as the first, but is a better film than the HTTYD 2. So far my top DreamWorks animated movies are:

1 - How to train your Dragon
2 - Kung Fu Panda
3 - Flushed away
4 - Shrek
5 - Antz
6 - Madagascar 3
7 - Kung Fu Panda 2
