Rttp: Ni No Kiwi WTWW: Hey its like Pokemon!

I will be honest this is the first RPG I ever completed outside of pokemon, the combat is very fun to control with the many familiars. I loved building armor for my familoars to make them stronger. Also the music and graphics are fantastic on ps3. Whats your thoughts about it?

I had to force myself to finish it. Pacing was a bit off, I think. I'm glad I beat it though, I remember parts of it fondly.

Honestly my favorite PS3 game and one of my all time favorite games. A dream game if you will! It's like playing a Ghibli movie. I'm hoping they do a PS4 remaster when NNK2 gets closer.

I thought the game was super forgiving in its mechanics for people new to the genre, which allowed my gf to tackle it for a bit. I didn't think the gameplay was "shitty" but it definitely could be simplistic, and you could put your characters into op territory by capturing and training the proper creatures.

Bosses were a bit of a pushover but some of the more powerful non-boss creatures, and some of those Solosseum (battle arena) fights were a legit challenge, the S Rank in particular.

And I'm with ya, music and visuals were top notch. One of my favorite PS3 RPGs. Very much looking forward to the sequel.

I really disliked the combat. I felt like I was kiting all the time, and partner AI was sometimes frustrating.

Still, the presentation and art were incredibly charming, as was the music.

This. I love almost everything about this game but the combat is god awful. I hope they will fix it for the sequel.

One of the best games I have played last gen.

Fantastic experience with a great sense of adventure. Gorgeous visuals, fun combat, incredible soundtrack, great story and writing.

Love it.

It's a great game, but it certainly has it's flaws.
The world, atmosphere and characters are absolutely great. It's arguably one of the most beautiful games of the generation and the scores are amazingly memorable.

The gameplay is well defined and the monster system leaves a lot of room for customization, but it does start to get repetitive and some of the monster's evolution are a little underwhelming. Granted it's hard not to get repetitive in an RPG this length, but the game does kind of lose momentum mid-way in terms of progression and plot (IIRC). My biggest problem with the game were some harsh difficulty spikes that seemingly came out of no where and required some lengthy grinding.

Great game, was the first platinum trophy I got in a game. I played it for a good like 2-3 months doing post-game stuff and listening to podcasts.

Imo it was the best RPG of last gen.
