Rumor: Black Ops 3 beta for pre-orders/ release date 11.6.15 (on a Friday)

Schreier do you already know what's going to show up at E3 ?
I doubt any publisher even knows 100% of what they're bringing to E3 until like the week before E3, ha. I've heard a couple of things that I'm still trying to corroborate (because as a general rule I don't feel comfortable posting scoops unless I've got at least two independent sources) but I'm not a big fan of secrets and teases. If I know something, I usually try to get it on Kotaku.

I thought Spencer was saying there wasn't going to be a Marcus Fenix collection. Was he lying, or twisting his worlds to include Judgement?

Or he was denying a Gears of War: Marcus Fenix Collection because it'll be called Gears of War Trilogy Remastered Edition

Spencer responded to an XBL msg saying he couldn't share information on it.

Rod Fergusson tweeted that there was no collection.

Tuesday is the release date for retail games.

True, but big games do come out on Fridays every once and awhile.

Skyrim comes to mind( came out 11/11/11, a friday)

Also nintendo releases games on sundays a lot, but I think thats more their thing :)

Would be awesome to see a Friday release for a COD!

Nintendo & Sony have been using Friday to release games for a while now. No reason Activision can't follow suit with CoD.

Nintendo are weird, as for Sony only The Order was a Friday unless I'm missing something? Bloodborne went back to a Tuesday release... but you do raise a good point. I still don't see it being released on a Friday though..

This is becoming less and less true. The music industry just moved CD releases officially to Fridays. Netflix has released a majority of their new shows on Fridays. I expect the game industry to quickly follow (and as someone else has already pointed out, Sony and Nintendo release their first party stuff on Fridays.)

It makes complete sense for two reasons: A) people get paid on Fridays (in most cases) so no better time that to release something than on a day when people get paid. B) big games like CoD releasing on a Friday get people even more excited to be able to get the game and play all weekend. I would be shocked if games releases on a Friday didn't see bigger first week sales thank those releasing on a Tuesday.

They moved to Fridays a few years ago. I believe they did this (and correct me if I am wrong) because games in Japan are usually released on Fridays, so it makes it easier to do Worldwide releases for games like Pokemon (when they actually do them...)
