It's impossible not to get some Netflix teenager action movie vibes from the game's trailer, the drinking scene was cringe as hell.

I want to think that once she gets into the planet, something tragic will happen and she'll stop being retarded, but the easiest guess is that it's just the developers looking for that new/modern audience..

I kinda had enough of female MCs, it's like the West hate men now, specially Sony studios.
TLOU2, Horizon, Intergalactic, Ghost of Yotei.
I guess the only reason God of War is still a male it's because they know there would outrage if they changed it to a woman.

Like, look, I have absolutely nothing against badass heroines, but there seems to have been a point internally at Sony where they bought into the idea of elevating female characters above male ones. Right now, would be a great moment to show off a DAYS GONE 2 trailer, out of nowhere, with Deacon stepping in out of a shadow or something, to add some much needed testosterone into their output selection.

They need to do way better than the first trailer to sell the character, story and tone though. As I wrote at the time, it was such mish-mash of pop culture references and blunt politically-correct edgyness that it was impossible to get a read on what they were going for. Which is an atrocious start to establishing a potential franchise character.

It sounds like the marriage of the best of both worlds when it comes to mainstream action games that sell a shitton (Anything FROM + Anything Naughty Dog). The "best in class" ranged combat meets "best in class" melee combat.

Say what you will, but I think that combo of gameplay types plus familiarity with the developer would sell like fucking crazy no matter what the character design is like.

Uncharted 2 is still the best Uncharted, and one of the best adventures period. U4 and Lost Legacy have new graphics and some wider encounters/better stealth, but the pacing and feeling of U2 is unmatched.

I have high hopes for Intergalactic: hopefully they can improve on both Uncharted and TLoU strenghts.

Hopefully they can deliver on tech too; Sony first parties have been quite lacking this gen.

I have LOVED pretty much everything Naughty Dog has done, wasn't the biggest Tlou fan but it was a great quality game. I freaking LOVE the Uncharted games,

There's a picture on a corkboard in the trailer that seems to show her with hair and makeup.

Honestly, though. I would like to have an arsenal of wigs to collect. There's plenty of women out there who keep their heads shaved and do wigs. I don't think they'll let you dress her up, though. I do think there's a bit of "stick it to em" going on here where letting you doll her up would be like ceding a Rare Incel Victory.

I don't think it's going to affect the game much for most people, but annoying to think that kind of approach may be affecting decisions. It would be a really easy way to please more people and I would hardly even call it a compromise for anyone reasonable on any side of it.
