4chan Intergalactic full plot leak, "open world Uncharted"

I see this take all the time, but please think about this for more than two seconds.

Is the only difference between Superman and Clark Kent that he puts on glasses?

Is this a trick question?

Superman wears colourful tights? Was that what you were looking for?

If so, I don't see how this is a meaningful rebuttal... if anything it only buttresses my point.

I really hope the leak is fake because that sounds like an incredibly basic and boring scifi story tbh.

On an “exclusive gaming journalist Discord,” Schreier and the cabal debated whether or not to share the leak, which is definitely a real thing that happens. Luckily, Anon’s friend (yes, this is from 4chan) was somehow in the group and decided to publish it widely.

As you may expect, with Schreier tagged in this story, he immediately arrived to shoot down the idea this had actually happened. And reading through the supposed leak (no, I’m not going to say there are spoilers in here, given that it’s fake), there are pretty clear indicators this is wholly fabricated.

Why people waste time writing fake stories/rumors is beyond me.

/thread.

If in the distant future the best disguise she could come up with was a number 0 all over then this is a good thing, right? Because it means we won - the great pushback must have happened sometime in the late 21st century: she didn't have the option to just fully transition to a man, like she could today. It must be banned in her time.

How does one go about preordering this?

well the issue is that I associate Uncharted with things that are just bad game design... so it'd be nice if they stopped doing bad game design 🤷‍♂️

•forced slow walking

•fake obstacles

•heavily assisted platforming

•heavy reliance on context sensitivity instead of systemic interactions

•on-rails climbing that doesn't allow a failure state unless you actively try to kill yourself

•bad difficulty balancing where the normal modes are baby's first shooter, while anything harder will keep you from using the game's mechanics leading to boring run-of-the-mill cover shooter shootouts.
while on normal you can run and gun, swinging across vines and do cool shit, but have zero challenge... on the harder modes you just can't do any of the fun stuff without getting mowed down by the aimbot AI... so it's just a choose your poison situation

•and last but not least, puzzles that are either just pressing buttons or are instantly spoiled by UI elements or NPCs, that are only there as an alibi to mimic gameplay variety (mimicking gameplay variety also being the reason the on rails platforming and climbing is in the game)

that's Uncharted to me, and why would anyone want any of this in any game is something I have been wondering for a long time tbh.
it seems to me that Uncharted is just a mid 3rd person shooter with elements added to hide the fact that it's just a shooter.
these added elements then have to be as absolutely dumbed down as humanly possible as to not offend anyone that doesn't want puzzles/climbing/platforming in their shooter game.

it's just: action ⏩ filler content ⏩ action ⏩ filler content ⏩ action ⏩ filler content

filler content being the dumbed down non-shooter elements.
and the only real highlights being set pieces that often are also dumbed down to a degree that failure is almost impossible unless you literally play the hardest mode,
which then gets you into the aforementioned issues with balancing during normal gameplay.

and they did go away from that type of game with TLOU, a series I have a whole other set of issues with, but it's different. so I think

would only apply here if we didn't know that Naughty Dog can change their approach from IP to IP. Jak & Daxter is very different from Uncharted, and Uncharted is different to TLOU, both in genre and in design philosophy.
The bit about the difficulty is spon on, thank god tlou doesn't suffer much from that.

I don't want an open world unless it's semi-open like Lost Legacy. Not doubting their ability to fill an open world but generally speaking the quality drops compared to a more finely crafted linear game.

Tbh even the explorable hub areas of LL were too much of a departure from the main Uncharted formula for me. The whole vast expanse thing in focused plot driven adventure games rub up wrongly against each other, imo.

>The reason for Jordan’s shaved head, the absurd reaction to which ND fully expected, is to serve the hiding of her identity, as she is a wanted criminal.

Only read this far. Based on the baby tantrums most of gaf had about the woman this is hilarious.
In the group photo of "The Five Aces", she has what amounts to a buzz cut. A better disguise would be fully grown out hair.

What isn't great about a story with a crazy old man killing dozens of people + zombies and not giving a fuck about the well-being of humanity to save a stranger?
It's not that crazy to come to the defense of someone you've planned a future with and what have we seen that shows humanity's well-being would've improved?

Also, I doubt the leak is true. What kind of woke game has you choosing between siding with the police or colonizers? A real Sophie's choice for the woke crowd.

Unless they frame the aliens as sympathetic native earthlings who just want their rightful land back lmao.

This actually sounds right along the lines of what Duckmann would write, coming off of TLoU2 with its incredibly heavy handed morality preaching. "Don't you feel so bad for liking this character before? How about now after she kills a dog? Muahaha 🐶"

Joel's egoistic psycho actions don't make much sense to me, I don't see the story as something special or extraordinary good. But that's just me.

Eh, are we gonna ignore Ellie's efforts to get him to like/love her throughout the game? She wanted Joel to see her as a new daughter so it's not surprising he'd come to her defense when her life is in danger over something she hadn't consented to.

Not sure which actions of Joel you consider that of a egoistic psycho, most of his kills were survival kills.

Too far-fetched and unrealistic for me to do all that for an almost stranger, but good if you liked the story.

A better disguise would have been a bit of lippy and some mascara.
Or a bipolar frog themed balaclava.

TLoU 2 4chan leak was legit, btw

Also why everything has to be open world? Especially after we got dreadful Jedi Survivor, which is something like "Uncharted in space, semi open world", this shit does not really inspire confidence and that's outside of Druckmann involvement
