As long as there's smell-o-vision, I'm there.

2 launch games does seem fishy. Though i don’t think there is many. I wonder if it is only 2 PHYSICAL Launch games.

Hypothetically:

Mario Kart
Red Dead 2

Digital:
Halo MCC
Silk Song

This would be a pretty good start, honestly.

Or like a Civ 7 if the rumored Mouse support is real.

The presentation is not going to satiate too much since it's going to be just a console reveal with no focus on games. And we all kinda know what the console is already. They should move the actual presentation closer to early february at the latest.

Nate the Hate says it’ll be revealed Thursday 1/16. Does he have a good record?

He also says the trailer on the 16th will not show any games running on the hardware?

Also, isn't this the same guy who said Halo MCC is coming to the Switch and PS5?

I'd also like to know his track record.

It's not the MCC that shocks me, its Flight Sim 25. I don't think NS2 wifi chip and processor are even close to being able to handling that game, although I don't know how it runs on Series S
Nintendo's streaming service for games like Kingdom Hearts III is terrible from what I've heard and read, most likely because of the atrocious networking capabilities. If they fix this with Switch 2 it should be possible, but take that with a massive grain of salt.

I don't get how they could make a whole presentation on a console that's literally just a bigger Switch and not at least show the games.

The first switch reveal had the novelty factor, which this one won't have.

I'd assume it's just a 3 minute trailer or something posted on socials. Some game footage included, mostly just the console and whatever new gimmick that C button is.

VGC corroborates natethehate's claim:

Nintendo will reportedly reveal Switch 2 this week (Jan 16) according to Nate the Hate. The reveal will focus exclusively on the console with no games presence/focus. Software showcase in late Feb or early March.

VGC says the two-part reveal plan aligns with what they've been told about the Switch 2 reveal.

Maybe... but even if the conectivity is better, FS is a game that relies a lot on the CPU and its very very demanding. I don't think NS2 or any other mobile chipset could do it. Suposedly Series S runs it at 1080, 30 fps (target, falls short reliably).

Hes pretty reliable, especially in last year or so

What he's saying regarding this is right but he has funbled a lot. He was the main culprit behind the Swich 2 rumors that went anywhere and lasted ~2 years. I shocked he was able to keep his clout after that.

You're absolutely right, if it's mainly CPU-bound it's probably not going to happen. The Switch 2's shtick is going to be GPU features like DLSS, but you can't use that to weasel yourself out of CPU performance issues.
