[Rumor] Switch 2 codenamed "NG" | Two SKUs September 2024 release

lol

Isnt this the fake Angie? Because $449 sounds insane for a nintendo console.

No, it's the real Angie with the rapunzel pfp from resetera. She's just a mouthpiece for stuff she receives via discord from various insiders. She has no reason to lie about the info she gets, however, the info itself can be wrong.

I mean, there's this as well:

You guys are focusing on the wrong things; those 2 in the screenshot are rando jesters/clowns from the server where @soldierdelta (the person with the relevant insider info) posts his stuff. Of course, you should take all of what he said there with a considerable large grain of salt. Honestly, this should be the norm with all the Switch 2 rumors we've had from insiders so far.

Interesting. But what about the gimmick? It's what is gonna make or break it. Are we just gonna have a normal shift this time?

Whenever you see a rumour of a new device that hasn't yet even been announced and that rumour includes the price..... don't believe that rumour

Iwata has been gone since 2015, but Nintendo is still his church and his way is still their bible. They even credited him in the Mario movie as the "former president of Nintendo". His philosophy with the Wii forever changed how Nintendo does things, and they're still operating under that. They aren't going to outprice the mass market and throw away what Iwata built.

Your fan-fiction was entertaining to read. 11/10

Very sceptical, digital only wouldn't make much sense at that price and it's not like a card reader is going to drastically reduce size. They already have a 2 sku model that seems more practical, one hybrid model and one that's handheld only.

400-450 seems plausible

Nintendo never has losses when selling consoles. If it turns out to be powerful, they will want their profit from hardware salles. So price will go up to compensate.

450 for a powerful handheld that can also become a powerful home console is kinda of a steal, honestly

Would gladly pay that price

Everyone here is certain the new Nintendo console will still be a portable/hybrid one with a screen on it, and while it's a fair assumption to make i wonder if i missed some rumours about it

Your assumption is that because they have never done it before, they won't ever do it? With inflation and game prices increasing, this is the perfect time for them to up their console pricing. They have every excuse available right now.

That depends on the level of tech spike. Tech is always becoming cheaper/less costly. Remember, Nintendo was able to go several gens at a $200 price point launch.

Doubt just because in Japan they say NG as a way to say not good for like when something is too inappropriate or something along those lines.

Really shitty of them to step back from OLED, screens are so fkn cheap the only reason I can see them doing it is so they can release a NG OLED for +$50 again.

Best of luck to you in 10-20 years.
10-20 years? How about 30 years. I still have my Super Mario World cart that came with my SNES when I bought it in 1991. But to play that, I'd have to dig out that SNES, hope it still works, find an old CRT TV or some kind of adapter to connect my SNES to my 4K TV... or I could just buy the digital version of SMW on the Nintendo Online store and play it on Switch.

Digital only screams fake to me. It's not like an optical drive that would save you significant production costs on the drive and licensing.

How many digital games are you still playing on your SNES?

The funny thing about bolded is that you literally can't.

Guessing only storage differences between the SKU's. Hopefully we get at the very least; 256GB and 512GB models.
