Why should Sucker Punch do a good Spider-Man game? They have done nothing with swing mechanics to compare and their climbing, the closest to wallcrawling, is the most simplistic shit in the industry, so they dont have anything proved in the most important gameplay mechanics. If it is Insomniac then that pretty much kills my enthusiasm over this rumor. Not that Insomniac is a bad shop or anything, but I've only really enjoyed their Resistance games and I don't see a lot of that translating well to a Spidey game. Sucker Punch seemed like such a great fit to me but maybe it just wasn't meant to be.

If it's true that Insomniac is developing, that is a pretty stark turnaround from their "departure" from Sony a few years ago. They left behind exclusively developing for Playstation to own their IP; they got Fuse and Sunset Overdrive as a result (both of which probably don't have a lot of value). Now they'd develop an exclusive game in an IP that the platform holder doesn't even own?
I guess SO2 could be in development but I'm not sure why it would be. I know they are doing some small things with non-traditional publishers.
SP has already been debunked.Hope it's SP, they've produced some of the most fun super heroe games ever.
So I guess the game is confirmed then? I'm starting to think it's VR.
Lol I can see that getting old. Watching Nico loose his footing everytime he came into contact with something was beyond annoying.I really want to see Insomniac implement an advanced physics system for web-swinging AND character models. Something like the Euphoria engine in R* games.

Imagine web-swinging at 80 mph and hitting a lamp post.
Insomniac sounds great. They're a much better dev than Sucker Punch.
Yeah, you'd think he had banana peels taped to his shoes the way he slipped on everything. They'd need to tone it down, but the rigid-body dynamics are there.Lol I can see that getting old. Watching Nico loose his footing everytime he came into contact with something was beyond annoying.![]()
They toned it down a bit for gta5. Does rockstar license their engines? Could be interesting.Yeah, you'd think he had banana peels taped to his shoes the way he slipped on everything. They'd need to tone it down, but the rigid-body dynamics are there.
This, Gravity Rush, Mirror's Edge; Why do people always think the stuff that screams "MOTION SICKNESS" is going to get VR support?
Not that I know of, but the animation engine they use actually doesn't "belong" to them. It's NaturalMotion's Euphoria engine, and has been implemented in a couple of other games:They toned it down a bit for gta5. Does rockstar license their engines? Could be interesting.

I'm about to get triggered.Totally. Sunset Overdrive is better than any inFamous, easily.
Both aren't allowed to be in games made after Contest of Champions thanks to a brand-wide X-Men/F4 ban mandated by Marvel. Its going to be a Spiderman dating sim where you choose between MJ, Gwen Stacey, She Hulk, The Human Torch, or Deadpool.
What makes people think it might be a Sony project (ergo PS4 exclu) is the guy who posted (online resume? Linkedin? It's been removed since) that he had been doing mo-cap at a Sony Studio for a Spiderman game.Is this rumored to still be a PS4 exclusive?
Might be the game that finally convinces me to get a PS4.
Sucker Punch or Insomniac, whichever studio it is, they are both perfect for this project.
Hopefully not, I'd rather they have more material to work with.I wonder if it'll be canon to the MCU

I would imagine Sony would take the risk for a multimedia force like Spiderman to mitigate motion sickness to push their VR. If they wanted to, of course.
Dunno what Gravity Rush or Mirror's Edge has to do with it.

Sound like VR thing.
In the worst case it will be a The Force Unleashed or Aliens Colonial Marines and Isolation Situation, where its just marketing bullshit to sell the game
In regards of MCU connections. What are you talking about?
In regards of MCU connections.
I mean, what I just posted? They're high motion games that people love to request/suggest VR support for without considering the parties involved would be opening themselves up to all kinds of lawsuits.
I don't see Sony putting VR support in any Spider-man with web swinging. It's not like the game needs to that to sell. Hell, with a brand at that level it doesn't even need to be a good game at all, really.
Hopefully not. The movies themselves barely benefit from being in a canon and the TV shows go ignored altogether, so it's a sure bet the game would. They're better off just making a Spider-man game with a killer world, story, and aesthetic all its own.

No, it was never officially communicated. Was that ban ever officially or publicly made by Marvel or Disney? I thought that was just a fan theory?
Unless you're talking about the movie/tv rights?
I'm confused.

If it's Sucker Punch hopefully they've figured out how to actually make decent side content.
