No mention of exclusive deal though.I guess Microsoft have done exclusive rights for the Windows/XBOX platform again? I hope it be more like Chaos Theory than Conviction this time around again, which I have a feeling it'll lean more back into that.
Probably not. That would require a ridiculous amount of power to do via software emulation.I hope it will play all my 360 games with better framerate and higher resolution.
Gears 3 and GTA V in 1080p at 60fps please. Is it possible ?
Not happening. Microsoft already invested in extra silicon in the latest 360 to artificially limit its performance to that of previous revisions.I hope it will play all my 360 games with better framerate and higher resolution.

You'll likely be able to play them, but there won't be any improvements over playing them on 360.Wait, what ? You tell me I wont be able to play my 360 games on the Xbox 3 ? Or just not in 1080p at 60fps ?

If there's any feature that would make me buy a next-gen console on day one, it would be that one.
Same here. I still dont understand why it shouldnt be possible. The 360 did it with xbox games.

Anywho, why isn't the use of M$ not an automated kick in the guts. It's meaningless, stupid and 1998.
Depends on the architectures used...
If they are going with a PPC + AMD Chip it might very well be full back compat... maybe even upscaled to 1080p in some cases...
If they'd use different architectures it becomes a more difficult story.

Actually, hardware BC makes that 100% impossible. The games are hard-coded to run at a certain resolution, and more powerful hardware can't change that.
I hope it will play all my 360 games with better framerate and higher resolution.

Sounds too gamer, too "hardcore". I see MS taking a more family-friendly name for their next machine. Irrespective of whether you like Kinect or not, it's a very good and family-friendly name.Tried go to xboxfusion.com r_r you will be automatically redirected on xbox.com
New name 100% XBOX Fusion
So only 7 days till Next Box doesn't show at CES?
I know I'd be surprised to see it there. Seems to me there was no basis for the rumor since Thurrott only guessed CES.
I'd be surprised if ANYTHING xbox will be announced

Xbox Live is now build in Windows 8, so there will be a proper demo, when they show a beta build during the keynote, but that's all. No console.
Some demo's sure, but nothing new...
I have been disappointed in the past, getting excited for MS CES...
You didn't mention it would be something "new". It would also be the first public demo of Xbox Live on Windows.
Oh, and don't ever get excited for a Microsoft CES keynote. Not even for this one.
MS forced devs to do everything through API calls this time around. No programming to the metal. Maybe emulation won't be necessary.Probably not. That would require a ridiculous amount of power to do via software emulation.
2012 is a very important year for the company:You didn't mention it would be something "new". It would also be the first public demo of Xbox Live on Windows.

It's their last one, it must be exciting![]()

Xbox Fusion is an awful name. That's some 1990s "Ultra 64" level shit. Worked then, but not now.
do a search for Microsoft Fusion trademark and you'll get a bunch of articles from last May. I don't think this is anything related to the next Xbox.
Not as bad as "Kinect".
