Rumored Xbox2 game trailer

In the recruitment section they say they're working on a "custom Digi-Guys engine with specialised in-house Xbox development tools".
 
The trailer is part of a CG movie they're making. There's going to be a short film and game coming out around the same time apparently.

ahhh, makes sense. can we really expect xenon graphics like that?

Agreed, i'm actually disappointed if that's the best next-gen can muster upon release. Notice the blocky hands of that ingame shot guy. UE3 almost looks better than the CGI.
 
the really great looking stuff was CG for game and/or CG for movie. the less awe-inspiring graphics were no doubt actual game level graphics :)

Those three in-game screenshots that Mumu posted are pretty impressive to me. And notice at the bottom of the image it says "Generic Level geometry and textures". Xenon is still a year away, so most of the ingame graphics are just place holder. Should look Much better once it's finally complete. :)
 
Real Xenon and PS3 games will look much better than these early screens from non finalized hardware. So dont get stupid you guys =). Time for me to go check out the movies.
 
yes, true, actual Xenon graphics will no doubt be better than the placeholder stuff we are seeing now (as that has prolly been made on R3xx or R420 not R5xx/Xbox2) but still, I don't expect CG graphics in a game. on the other hand though, I don't doubt we'll get near-CG graphics in realtime cut-scenes. look at RE4 on the "lowly" Gamecube :D
 
Just some random game from a random studio desparate for a publisher. See: Dronez, Vultures, etc

It's hard enough to get a publisher to commit to games for PS2/Xbox.

Developers are getting laid off, lots of consolidation coming up
 
looks really impressive, especially considering this is some random small studio... I mean hell, the new Elder Scrolls game looks great and those games are allways pretty bad looking.

Next gen is gonna look awesome.
 
Definitely looks like shader work from Cg/RenderMonkey or similar. The cloth system is kinda all over the place and the game and its enemies look kinda goofy. In any event, hope they do well.
 
From a purely visual standpoint, this vid has me pumped for the next gen. Games like Riddick and Halo 2 really maxed out this gen's hardware, and you could see what they wanted to pull off but couldn't. Those same developers are gonna go nuts with this stuff.

My dream for next gen: No LOD models and a truly unified lighting model for Halo 3.

There will probably be less of a chance you will notice LOD changes since it should happen farther in the distance, but they will still be there.

Maybe LOD will be a feature built into the hardware that reduces detail instead of having to swap out texture maps?

Hey, I said it was a dream. :p

My dream for this gen was that all games would be locked at 60 fps. I didn't think it would happen, but I've been appalled lately that this late in the game we're getting games like PG2 that run at 30.

Hopefully, 60 will be the standard next round.
