And that's why people use OpenCritic.

77 is fine (and probably will float between 76 and 78), but it's nowhere near runaway success. STALKER was always a niche slav-jank, but it will remain niche slav-jank. For better or for worse.

I've clocked 1000h+ in the previous games and mods, but will wait for a year for fixes, patches and proper modscene to arrive (which could be difficult due to UE not being friendly to mods outside of asset swaps).

Yep, there's been an overwhelming amount of good stuff that's released in the last few months, particularly from Japan.

I just don't have it in me to struggle through something knowing it will be fixed in 6 months time, whether that's by the devs themselves or the stalker fans via a community patch.

My advice, play the older games first and install the following:

I played the first one a few years after it came out and thought it was dog shit. I love the premise and the atmosphere seemed cool but the actual game was pure shit. Figured this sequel might actually deliver on the concept but I'm good. I'll check back in in six m9nths or whatever.

Just to be clear, how do review scores currently work?
Open world isn’t anything special.

FPS player carrying a gun to complete quests has been done to death at this point.

On top this has unexplained mechanics that make it hardcore.

Only reason why reviewers are respectful to the game is its made under war conditions.

………..

With that said, I do see a lot of value in game like this.

Eurogamer and other publications are delaying releasing their reviews due to extensive bugs and the promise of fixes from the Day 1 patch. I can’t remember any other release being given this latitude. Not saying it’s right or wrong just noteworthy to me because it’s rare.

Another game released with tons of performance issues .... I will just wait 6 months to a year for them to patch it up and play it when its complete.

I think it makes sense. If the users are going to play with the patch, then the reviews should be done with that patch as well.

I got an update redownloading the entire game yesterday.

It went up to 76.

That being said, why the hell they didn't delay the game for a little while if it was so buggy. After such a long and hard development, release the game in a good state goddammit

I dont understand videogame companies sometimes

They should have given it a few more months of development and not released it with so many bugs and performance problems, a 7X was not the grade that was expected.

Had no idea these were 80+. …Maybe back in the day there were not enough open world games… etc

Going by currently how review scores work, no way this will cross into the 80s.
I remember they were shit on because of bugs as well. They generally do not release bug free. This just means the bugs in the most recent one are probably huge or more frequent.

Not bad. Think I'll wait a few months for them to iron out the issues before playing this though.

Had a feeling it's gonna have a lot of bugs at launch. Gonna wait a year and play it when these issues hopefully will be ironed out

This Day 1 patch seems like a mess. Like seriously a 140GB patch? Coupled with the embargo lifting hours before launch, why not at that point just give out review copies when the Patch was available a couple of days ago? What was the rush to get 40 reviews out (8 on Xbox lol)
