STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl – Official PS5 Announcement Trailer

I played at launch and liked it. It's STALKER and STALKER is always a bit janky. I've kept an eye on the OT and they've been updating the game a lot. Latest update has AI actually being simulated all across the zone, not just around the player. Haven't tested it myself yet, but I think I might soon.

8 months after the Xbox launch, coincidence ?

If they can get this running with close to quality mode settings at 60 fps on the Pro then I'm buying it. Played a little on Series X on quality mode and thought it could be a great game but not at 30 fps where it had input lag. Felt for the most part likr a AAA game though despite a lot of the negative comments im seeing here. The performance mode was too blurry for me.

I think that the game is definitely worth a look from anyone interested. It manages to capture most of the amazing atmosphere of the OGs, it brought back fond memories of the original 3 games while playing it. The gunplay is really good, head and shoulders better than the originals. Also, the latest 1.5 patch brought some major improvements to the AI making the Zone a more dynamic place to explore.
I recently finished it after having put 100 hours into it and I'm happy with my experience and there still isn't anything quite like Stalker out there. All of that being said this is still a janky and flawed game, just like the originals :)

Hopefully there is a full physical release (aka, the disc is something more than just a key), but I think they never did that for the trilogy (outside of japan).

Still, good news.

One of the best immersive sims out there. The atmosphere is out of this fucking world, how it can suck you like a gravitational anomaly.

Also, obligatory fuck the dogs. 😜

Once I'm finish with Death Stranding 2, I plan to purchase Stalker 2, Geow 1, and Astrobot.

Unfortunately for everyone this game is just not all that great.

It's the videogame equivalent of this gif:

Yeah, I just didn't like the loop. Go out and explore/loot. Go back to base and spend 75% of cash made looting on repairs.

Has this shill ever been right or truthful?

To this day I still don't know who any of these guys you and other posters link in this site are. Like I can tell the name because you've posted them here, but as for why their opinion matters to me more than a recently added GAF poster with 2 posts… neither have more weight than the other.

You give them clout. You let them live in your head rent free. They make money because guys like you give them attention. lol.

Have some self control and ignore them especially if you think they are a retard.

Despite its supposed flaws, I have a friend who swears Stalker 2 is the best game he's played since Elden Ring. It makes me want to check it out, but I've never played any of the older games in the series. Maybe I'll try to catch up to it at some point.

Its an immersive, thick atmosphere kind of a game. If you're someone who just wants to run n gun, you won't like it. If you play slowly and enjoy exploring a really nice looks world, its great.

That's exactly how I like to play personally. Really getting sucked into the environment, taking my time, exploring everywhere. Maybe I need to get into this series. Thanks.

You're overthinking it. They talk shit and we laugh at there shit when they get exposed.

I hated it when it initially released on Series X, but something kept pulling me back to it especially after the plethora of patches.

Really glad that I came back to it because STALKER 2 is one of most immersive, graphically impressive games I've ever played (played it in Quality mode on XSX on a 65 inch LG C3). There's still a lot of bugs and euro-jank, but it was an absolutely incredible experience. The game is DRIPPING with atmosphere and ambiance. It's definitely not for everyone, but I highly recommended it for anyone into immersive sims.

I definitely plan to double dip on PS5 Pro to check out the Pro enhancements. One of my favorite games this generation by far.

I had a lot of fun with Stalker 2. Outside of some bugs the worse thing about Stalker 2 is not allowing you to continue your save past the ending. With such a massive open world with countless points of interest they're basically begging you not to finish the game lest ye start over from scratch.

One of the best sequels ever made as its keeps so faithful to the old games, the atmosphere in this game is almost unmatched.

It's just a little too hard for its own good at times, but still worth playing just for the gameworld and exploring it

….but this is completely different, though. How does this illustrate a slimy platform thing? It's a game being ported to another console. That literally only benefits people. Not to mention the developer themselves. Timed exclusives have been a thing for 20+ years. How is more people being able to play a game a slimy console thing?

Exclusive DLC for a multi platform game being only on one version is very slimy. Which is what he is stating he is against, in the post you shared. What does any of that have to do with this game being ported? 🤔

You're preaching to the choir. The hypocrisy is that Spencer often calls out timed exclusives, yet he continues doing it himself as Stalker 2 was a known timed exclusive. Thus, people are also calling him out now that the exclusivity window is closed and the game is getting ported.

But it's not timed exclusives. It's timed exclusive DLC for a game out simultaneously on multiple platforms. Which I agree is super cringe. Glad it's dying off.

I don't see the hypocrisy when everyone including him agree that exclusives benefit no one other than shareholders of Nintendo and occasionally PlayStation. Certainly not players or developers.

I'm not here to argue, I'm just explaining the reference since you asked. If you disagree, feel free to take it up with the original poster.

Might check this out if it's fixed. Got turned off by performance issues.

I have played SoC and CoP but didn't play Clear Sky.

SoC was really hard while I found CoP super easy in comparison. All on the hardest difficulty. Where does Stalker 2 fall?

The lies who said this man with his straight face every fucking single time. What it's more annoying he always tried to appear as the good guy. What asshole.

Are we going down this route now where xbox fans are normalising deals for exclusives again? Is there something you want to tell us?

Phil has been saying he's against exclusive games while participating in them for years.

In reference to doing another Ryse deal:

He's been beating the drum of somehow helping the industry by getting rid of exclusives. "I don't know who it benefits in the industry":

Meanwhile he's been signing exclusive games. He's not talking about exclusive dlc but he had done those too. Xbox had exclusive map packs for COD before ghosts. GTA4 exclusive episodes while he was there and you didn't hear a peep from him about "slimy platform things". When it became cost prohibitive for xbox, when they lost the installbase, that's when they began to demonise it.

As I stated in previous posts, the context of those comments are normally in regards to exclusive DLC for a game that is released simultaneously on multiple platforms. That is indeed super cringe, as he and the rest of us (hopefully) all agree on. In regards to the broad concept of exclusive games in general, like the rest of us in recent years, his views have likely evolved. Just as they have with many of us.

Who here would state categorically that anyone other than Nintendo shareholders benefit from all Nintendo first-party games being permanent console exclusives? I mean 20 years ago it never would've been a passing thought. But now we are in 2025, we should all be able to see that it clearly doesn't benefit players or developers themselves. it exists solely to allow Nintendo to keep their software prices inflated and maintain a complete hold on all channels of legitimate distribution.

How is talking about helldivers 2 exclusivity related to DLC? The context of that comment is not DLC. It was Ryse and Helldivers 2.

Sure but the context is that Phil/xbox does them while hypocritically complaining about them. This is one of them in the thread. They also didn't say a word when it cost them very little to lock up CoD, GTA content exclusivity in past generations. Nor full games like Mass Effect, Bioshock, Titanfall etc.

That's putting it lightly. This game needed 2+ more years of development. Damage has already been done.

Please don't listen to the usual suspects in this thread that praise anything Xbox, this game is bad.
The first two games were also horribly broken and people think of them fondly because of literally YEARS of modding.

Only the third one- call of Pripyat- can be considered playable by modern standards.

One of the biggest frauds this gen. Game looks nothing like the screenshots in the games description.
