S.T.A.L.K.E.R. devs ask for help amist Russian x Ukraine war

This is so sad. What Putin has done is inexcusable and there's blood on his hands.

But it's also important to understand the history of NATO under significant US influence, and the continuous bullying of Russia. When you keep lying and insulting a country (Russia), and effectively isolate them via 21st century imperialism, at some point they end up saying enough is enough.

Unfortunately, Ukraine's citizens are caught in the middle and paying the price. Again this does not excuse Putin action, but ask yourself how we got here.

Fuck your "but" and the vomit-inducing fake victim card. Oh no, those poor Russians, so insulted, let's go invade a real country with real people in it so we can feel better about ourselves! "But" my ass.

Fuck war. My wife's mother had to stay the night in a bomb shelter, and the next day she was treating wounded Russian soldiers in the local hospital.. What a fucking nightmare. My heart goes out to GSC, Ukrainians and to my family and friends in Ukraine.

Ok, I stand by every word I said.

I am just as sincere with my condemnation of Putin/sadness for Ukrainians as I am in pointing out the history between US and post Soviet Russia.

There's a time and a place. This is not it (not in a moderator context, but in the context of some of us giving pushback to excuses/"history" while people go through a unnecessary nightmare where there is no excuse for)

I seem to recall there being a rule against politics?

Just because it's a game developer speaking, doesn't make it less political.
I think we can open an exception for extreme circunstances, such as a war, don't you think?

And its more of a message asking for help rather than a proper discussion. I don't see anything political about it.

I hope someone sticks a fork in Putin's brain, but unfortunately he probably lives in a walled fortress with 3 fake impersonators walking around pretending to be him. I will pray for an asteroid to land on him instead; I'll consider god exists again if it does. 🤪

It makes me think about how lightly I used to take war after 9-11
it's abhorrent and I hate that these people have to go through this.

WTF. I do not know how accurate this video is but according to this reporter Men 18-60 yrs cannot leave the country at 4:05 :messenger_astonished::messenger_pouting:

Yeah, that's why i said that. They said they will be forcing men to fight.

If the conflict isn't settled very quickly I wouldn't expect STALKER 2 to come out at all. Personally, I'm considering it as good as cancelled.

give aid to the ukranian armed forces?, the same forces that were shelling civilians in lugansk an donetsk for 8 years? the same that are a bunch of neo-nazis like the azov?(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azov_Battalion)

also I dont want to support a government that attacked its own civilians and refused to follow the minsk agreement precisely to prevent this

I preffer to give money to civilians assuming my bank account wont freeze for doing it :pie_eyeroll: , and also advice civilians to not enter the conflict and disregard the president advice of trowing molotovs to russian armed forces wich sounds like a joke(Zelenskyy is a comedian after all) and also return the weapons goverment gave you to attack russian armed forces or at least make sure what are you shooting at, specially because some armed civilians cant distinguish between russian military and a family in a SUV

Please, let's focus our thoughts on the people of Ukraine. Hearing so many stories of their bravery has really moved me.

There is a difference between politics and identity politics. Unfortunately, politics often has life and death consequences. They are unavoidably intertwined and we are witnessing this right now. I pray for world leaders to do the right thing and come to a resolution.

I live in Poland. Many people from Ukraine work in my region. I have been watching their gloomy faces since yesterday. With difficulty, a young woman from Ukraine managed to bring out a smile when welcoming me to her store. Fucking hell..

Even though they've been living here for so long, they look like they've suddenly lost their home. Their past, memories, identity, everything.
We are all depressed by this situation, but there is a strong desire to help people fleeing the war.

Tomorrow, together with my employees, we are preparing packages with medical supplies, clothing, thermal blankets, personal care products, also financial support.

Forgive us for not being able to do more in this difficult situation. The loud voice of the enemy can be forgotten, but never the silence of our friends. Know that we do not want to remain silent. :messenger_heart:

Yeah, a family member called us from Ukraine (Facebook call, phone line was down) today and told us they were fleeing to Poland but he had to turn around and leave his family at the border because he wasn't allowed to cross..

Game devs losing their country, their home and facing losing everything and possibly dying. Many of them probably going to be conscripted into fighting for their country

Sean Mirrsen: "but the mods said lets not be political 🤓"
