How anybody can still think this is anything other than a big load of bullshit and disappointment is beyond me.

I think it's an interactive app for you to try out the PlayStation Experience trailers like some kind of demo. If that's the case then it will be far from disappointment. How anybody can still think this is anything other than a big load of bullshit and disappointment is beyond me.
Why preload for 1GB app, 12 days before release? Just why?
What makes you think this won’t be playable?
The file size is even larger than PT.
Playable Teaser / Realtime Trailer.
It’s the same phrase with different wording.
This isn't entirely true, unless something changed with the submission process in the last 5 years. Do you know this for sure?
That was playable... basically a demo with "trailer" in the name.
Obviously what Hasan is trying to relate to here, but failed since it's not playable lol.. it's literally pointless to make as an app, as you could just.. release a trailer.
Dude.. read the last tweet in your post lol
Or this:
I see what you are referring to now but LOL... at launch this won't even have a single trailer.. then first "trailer" drops later in August. That's an old tweet... Read the new Hasa's tweets.
I was team real but with all the hints together I believe Team Fake is the real winner.
But why?Team Fake:
But why?
I'm team fake and in fact, I'll be sad if it's NOT Silent Hill. I'm just keeping my expectation in check.
It's a win/no loss situation. Win because if it IS Silent Hill... OH MYYYYYY.....
No loss because I don't believe it is Silent Hill, I'm expecting this to be a AA horror game nothing more.
Watching from above is fun enoughSo, you just play safe? Where's the fun in it?
Nobody gets multiple submissions for free and if localization was an issue BB likely had to pay. I would be so skeptical of the claim that BBStudios hasn't paid any money to Sony for all of the access they are getting, ESPECIALLY if it's only some 2 bit asset flip con.Indie's get "lent" free dev kits (they might have to turn them in) and don't pay for game submissions.
Yes, things have changed dramatically particularly for indies.. but everything is a lot cheaper for everyone.

Sony said it would not be changing its self-publishing processes, which are detailed on a website dedicated to indies. Many developers are happy to work in emulation on PCs. A dev kit is not necessary until later in a project's life, and few indies are aiming to release their games at the PS4's launch.
Ok, first if all... Take a breath. They don't pay to publish.. I don't know what to tell you, this has been known since the start of the Playstation 4 generation, used to be public info on Sony's dev site, but now it's hidden, but you can find articles about it:
So how much does it cost to develop for PlayStation 4?
Your source for the latest in video games, sci-fi, fantasy, tabletop games, anime, horror, books, and comics.www.polygon.com
They also give out lots of dev kits for free to indie devs.. often for a limited time.. but you don't need a dev kit to actually create a game either way, just to do final testing. Hasan probably got his recently and has a year to fuck around and grift lol
And if you think Hasan paid for a single blog post + trailer on the PS channel I don't know WTF to tell you lol
Not all blog posts get posted.. but that other indie dev indicated they all are supposed to write and submit one .. which Sony then decides what to post. I highly doubt Hasan paid for his. If he did, who gives a shit? It's still was a garbage asset flip trailer.. and he's only ever released total garbage asset flips in his 6 year company history, with zero evidence of many of his claims of hiring voice actors, and having a 10 person team, etc.,etc.
Also plainly obvious Sony posts literally every trailer for every game they get sent.. just look at their channel.
This is going to be the biggest load of steaming crap the PS5 will ever see. It's going to be glorious.
They don't cost money anymore is what I'm trying to tell you.Ok, first if all... Take a breath.
I was talking about the submission process. No matter what content you are looking to get publish by whomever, you have to pass the sub process by Sony to get listed. I'm assuming that little localization delay stunt killed the first free submission. Nothing to do with publishing but if your software isn't in line the first time and you have to sub a second it costs. Further more the extra content and patches, etc cost. There is no way Sony just let's all indies host up content endlessly for free.
I admittedly haven't read the link yet, thanks for posting, I'll check on it.
I'm not attacking you bro, chill. I'm just looking at my experience getting through Sony first party and saying that doesn't line up with what I had to do.
Indies have a strict template in what they can do, they can do anything, within that template. If indies could self-promote through apps or even just news articles on PSN, they would. It would be common, they don’t, they can’t.They don't cost money anymore is what I'm trying to tell you.
That's the old school way of doing things.. every submissions cost 10's of thousands, every patch.. dev kits hugely expensive...that's old info from the PS3/360 era, which by the end of that generation had been massively lowered.. Sony then at the start of the PS4 generation basically made it "free" for indies to do any of this stuff.
I'm sure if they fuck around enough and push enough garbage through the cert process, then Sony would kill their dev account.. but the process is free for indies unless they want that $25k exposure.
The reason is likely the digital storefronts massively increasing revenue for the 1st party... the physical license fees had been bargained down to the $8-10 range on a 3rd party $60 game.. meanwhile digital is netting them ~$18 per game. Beyond that all of these processes have been more and more automated and streamlined; just the nature of maturing tech. Code is scanned automatically and a few things are checked, the process isn't taking much manpower or time.. and the potential of revenue from %30 of a game hitting is a greater "get" than charging a bunch of money up front and dissuading people from even starting, releasing anything, or patching anything.
Indies have a strict template in what they can do, they can do anything, within that template. If indies could self-promote through apps or even just news articles on PSN, they would. It would be common, they don’t, they can’t.
You focused on the app, what about the news articles Sony are supporting them with advertising the app?I just patently disagree here.
This app is dumb; any normal indie would think it was dumb.. nobody is interested in shitty tech demos from indies under any normal circumstance. It would not be worth the effort compared to just releasing a trailer.
And Hasan might be harming his relationship with Sony releasing this dumb ass app too, we don't know how this will all turn out.. this guy has released nothing but total garbage up until this point.. if he releases total garbage on PSN, he's not gonna be high up on Sony's "lend them a dev kit" list, and he certainly doesn't have a lot of money from game sales at this point.
A blog post he wrote? Why is that such a big deal? lol Where did they advertise the "app" anyways, maybe I missed something... they let him post a blog post about his alleged "game".. not this stupid ass trailers app. (which he's likely positioning as a "demo" of his game, in his submissions to the self publishing system)You focused on the app, what about the news articles Sony are supporting them with advertising the app?
Hey I've said from the start.. I'd love to be wrong.. would be a way more fun outcome. At least if it turns out team real are wrong at least we had some fun along the way.
If it turns out super serious team fake are wrong though...
No, not the blog post. The news article on PSN advertising the app. If devs could self-advertise on PSN, don’t you think they would?A blog post he wrote? Why is that such a big deal? lol Where did they advertise the "app" anyways, maybe I missed something... they let him post a blog post about his alleged "game".. not this stupid ass trailers app. (which he's likely positioning as a "demo" of his game, in his submissions to the self publishing system)
What article? That's just.. his game listing.. which all games get, because they submit details during the submission process. What "article"?No, not the blog post. The news article on PSN advertising the app.
What article? That's just.. his game listing.. which all games get, because they submit details during the submission process. What "article"?
True. We'll all see what's up next month. This app is dumb; any normal indie would think it was dumb.. nobody is interested in shitty tech demos from indies under any normal circumstance. It would not be worth the effort compared to just releasing a trailer.
LOL.. that's literally just the "news" anyone can add to their game listing.
Not sure what you mean?LOL.. that's literally just the "news" anyone can add to their game listing.
Hasan typed a few words and hit "submit" and maybe someone had to approve it... there is no "Article", if you click on that thing you get the Abandoned logo with about a tweets worth of crap.
It shows up.. pretty much nowhere.. Abandoned isn't on any "list" on PSN.. it's not featured under indies, it's not in games, it's nowhere.
Even if you type "Aba" into search, it's not suggested.. you have to get to "Aban" then finally you'll find Abandoned's listing hidden away on PSN. Then Hasan added some "news" to it, and we don't even know for sure if that news will come to fruition.. we really have to wait to see with this clown.
If it were so easy to self-advertise then why aren’t other indies doing it?
Also creating an app would be a huge advertising advantage since their are less than 20 applications in total on PSN.
Sony don’t allow just anyone to create an app.
Still so fucking weird to have a dedicated app for a game from a nobody. Where's the Little Devil Inside trailer app? That game had more hype going for it than Abandoned, until people started to realize that the latter was associated with Kojima. Stray too had more hype. It's just too out of the ordinary. This is Kojima, forildo.
This is going to be the biggest load of steaming crap the PS5 will ever see. It's going to be glorious.
And you don’t find that just a little bit strange that they are doing it as opposed to others? Now that I've found it, it also shows up on the list that quick for me.. before I'd ever searched for abandoned, it took the "aban." Algorithm.
But again.. what in the world are you talking about? It's literally just "news" you can add to your game, that only shows up if someone looks at your game, or follows your game.
Why do you think no indies are adding "news" to their games?
If they aren't.. it's probably because it's a feature mostly used by live service games, that people would actually "follow" on PSN.. not random ass indie games lol
Apps are hidden under the Media page.Again getting caught up with the term "app".. what "20 apps" are you even talking about?
He's just calling it "Abandoned : Realtime Trailers" on PSN.. not "App".. it'll likely get released as a game demo. There is no "app" section on PS5 at all. There's Games and Media.... and beyond that they don't really label anything outside of those 2 buckets.
Not at all.. because who in the world is going to see some indie dev's "news" they post under their game, you have to go out of your way to find or follow? And you don’t find that just a little bit strange that they are doing it as opposed to others?
Not even No Man’s Sky does it and they drop news all the time online advertising their new updates. Not at all.. because who in the world is going to see some indie dev's "news" they post under their game, you have to go out of your way to find or follow?
It's almost certainly just part of the self publishing tools games get on PSN.
I mean.. this stuff is basic content management system shit.. probably Drupal or something similar, with submissions and approvals.
