Saints Row has officially gone Gold

I'll admit it's looking more and more like the Saint's Row games were familiar with the more we see of it, so that's tight. But I'll probably hold back on purchasing until I know more.

I mean, it IS Saint's Row.... Expecting anything otherwise
All the games have been silly, but this is lame on top of it.

Sainst Row has always been a product of its time, chasing cultural trends of the moment. First 2 capitalized on the high roller gangsta rap culture of the early/mid 2000s. When that passed, SR evolved to a more broad kinda pop culture blender, riffing hard on (80s) nostalgia and lol random internet humor which were both really taking off in the early 2010s. Now, the alphabet movement and rainbow rights are fashionable, so that's the hat new SR wears.

That said, I've been a long time SR fan, so I'll give this a shot eventually, maybe after the 3 expansions come out in a complete version.

Day 1 buy if they lean more toward 2 than 3 with the theme and gameplay.

For awhile I thought this wasn't going to happen and it was going to go the way of True Crime.

This game is wack, everything is straight up goofy.
I really dislike the changes, that is supposed to be Rim Jobs.... what did they change Freckle Bitch's to?

I'll get this cheap on steam.

What makes this so dumb is that rim jobs was perfect, you got the joke and it fit the business, and the game kept it moving.

Saints row 1 and even some of 2. 3 was too goofy.
But SR3 came before Fortnite......and the reboot is most similar to SR2....the most balanced Saints game.

SR2 and 3 shit all over all 15fps of Saint Row 1......and I got all the achievements, it was my only X360 for like 3 months.....yes my eyes bled for weeks after.
Masta Ace was stuck in my head forever but SR2 does everything better than SR1.
Literally everything.
Name one feature SR1 did better than SR2 not even the tone.

It would have been as dead as the True Crime series if SR 2 and 3 were just like SR 1. Thankfully, instead the devs adapted and improved the gameplay to the point of it being really fun and smooth to play.

I'll wait to see if it runs well on PC, then ill get it, i like the gameplay, the characters not so much, but that won't stop me playing it.

This rely is slightly odd because I was talking about post super hero Saints Row, Saints Row 2 and 3 were long ago before the series was on decline and then the long break with no new titles.

Saints Row 2 still has the best mindshare, and while 3 sold more, people want more Saints Row 2 style but adapted of course, with some elements of 3 in it. I don't mind the goofy stuff but I hope the new SR is closer to 2.

From everything we have seen this closer to SR2 than it is to SR3 and 4.
Which is a win in my book.

The retail code better be a 100% improvement over this shit.

Horrendous screen tearing, awful drawdistance and pop in.

What are the stronger CPUs and SSDs for??

I will still have my fun with this game but Jesus what was the delay for??

I've enjoyed most SR games but I won't buy any game that goes Epic Exclusive.. even if it eventually goes to other platforms later.

If you subscribe to Gamepass, there is a 49.5% chance you can play this for "free" within a year in my opinion. If you subscribe to PS+ (above basic tier), there is a 49.5% chance you can play this for "free" within a year in my opinion. If you subscribe to both services, then there is a 99% chance you can play this for "free" within a year in my opinion.

idk. on one hand Xbox gave me like every Saints row with Games with Gold. On the other hand i don't believe any Saints Row has been on GamePass

I've just watched the latest gameplay trailer and I've yet to see any pedestrians in the game! Isn't that weird?

Gameplay looks ok. Characters and dialogue seem insufferable though.

Very likely to skip this, despite the huge dearth of AAA games.
