Sally Yates testifies before Senate subcmte re: Flynn/Russ today 2:30EST (livestream)

Man I could have fucking sworn that the title of this stream was "Sally Yates testifies before Senate subcommittee investigating Russia ties to the election"

Instead Yates shows up to Republicans telling her she shouldn't have disobeyed the president to discriminate against muslims.

Obviously they are trying to make it that Yates was fired over defying the travel ban and not because she outed Flynn.. sadly she is intellectually superior to any of these republican clowns..
Yeppppp

It's a tragedy for this nation that a person of this intellect was fired from such a position.

What did she say? Everyone here is going BOOM SCHOOLED OH YEAH etc. but I have no idea what she actually said.

I'm not even watching this, I'm at the gym working out but I felt compelled to say I feel like some idiot in the world just got a smackdown. My pathetic sense is tingling.

Holy fuck, Yates just bodied Cruz on national television.

Recap on her right hook to Lyin Ted?

Cruz basically said she should have enforced Trump's Muslim ban because the law says she has to do what the president says.

Yates countered back with the fact that she didn't have to enforce it because there's a provision in the law Cruz was quoting that says the president cannot ban a person or group of people simply because of their race, religion, or national origin - which the travel ban absolutely did. She knew the ban was illegal and so she chose to not enforce it.

Lol. "Let's go to Russia".

Can't imagine why we'd have ever left.

What did she say? Everyone here is going BOOM SCHOOLED OH YEAH etc. but I have no idea what she actually said.

Cruz tried to school her on a legal footnote. She then pulled out one of the subsections of that law and pointed to her justification/basis for not following the law.

Which I don't understand, also if this is supposed to be bipartisan where's the people who actually have questions pertaining to the hearing.

The democrats have at least been trying.

What did she say? Everyone here is going BOOM SCHOOLED OH YEAH etc. but I have no idea what she actually said.

essentially it boiled down to "have you ever heard of a situation where the OLC said an order was lawful, then the AG turned around and overrode them and said that it was unlawful?" and Yates was like "not off the top of my head, but I'm also not familiar with a situation where an EO was sent to the president without the AG being informed about it until after the fact." and Cruz was like "buh buh you're partisan"

Look at the Republican fuck heads try to bury Yates And get owned in the process.

It's pretty clear, any investigation involving republicans will lead nowhere. An independent investigation needs to happen.

I need a clip of what Yates said to Cruz.

She basically described and defined the purpose of the law as a method of protection to a sitting Senator and a WH administration that clearly doesn't understand it. It was pretty good.

There are fundamental institutional changes the US needs for future elections and we will not get that from the GOP, Russia will try this again and with the behavior of the GOP, this is a concerning hearing.

The GOP might be the most disgusting mainstream political party in any democratic countries.

Saying that, the whole "Russia could blackmail Flynn because they knew he lied to the vice president" is super weak...

Aaaand I've turned it off.

Yeah I don't know how any of you guys could sit through this. It enrages me and I just have to follow along in threads here for the info. I can't listen to Trump or any of these idiots without getting angry.
