Samba de Amigo maracas - keep or sell?

i'm cleaning house and i'm debating whether to keep these things. i love the game, but it'll honestly probably be another year before i play it again. i've also heard that there's some third party maracas that work better than the official ones. i'm not trying to make a killing off of them, but they'd be one less thing to keep in my closet.

Should they stay or should they go?

You'll want to sell them before a Revolution version is announced. If that does happen, they certainly won't be worth much.

Just an FYI -

I had 4 sets *NEW* (Official Sega) in the box - I sold off 2 w/ game (new) for $350 on Ebay and prob would have scored more ... The 2 sets I have are still unopened, and even have the original ship box as well...

KEEP AND PARTY ALL NIGHT, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Are the US Maracas more coveted (read: valuable) by chance? I have a couple sets I might consider selling if they fetch a nice price. I did a quick eBay search just now and was disheartened by the $40 ending bids on some Japanese sets.

Honestly the odds of me ever playing the game again are extremely slim, but my fetish for proprietary controllers is making me really want to keep them, even though I know it's stupid to.

Standard response: "No, they're not worth anything. I'll get rid of them for you."

dibs dibs dibs dibs!!

not to influence you.. but I heard that storing maracas in your closet attracts bird flu.

I'd like to have a second pair, so of course I'm keeping mine. They're great fun really, unless all your friends are too embaressed to play (losers).

Aren't they identical? My US Maracas box has the Japanese Dreamcast logo on it.

Sambe De Amigo was one of the Dreamcast's best games. I had to sell my copy when my maracas stopped working. :(

But hell if Sega makes a new version for Revolution.. Revolution GET!!

I'm currently on a roll to rack up ÂŁ1000 to pay off my new TV. Up to ÂŁ900 now, and samba can help me towards that final push (along with some other stuff)

So if anyone wants my maracas (and game), PM me

I've got the official US maracas, I only used them twice... still have everything wrapped in the little baggies with the twist ties, etc. Basically kept it as a display piece, and it's sat on the top of a bookshelf for a few years now. I'd sell that with the game, if anyone else is interested.

How much are you folks looking to sell your maracas for? I've wanted to play Samba for a while now, but I figure it's not worth picking up if I don't have any maracas.

* checks to make sure "maracas" isn't a slang term for anything untoward

I'd probably do the maracas and the game for $60+shipping. Retail was $120 for all of it new, so that's fair, I think. This isn't a highly-hot ebay item afaik.

I got my first set with the game, and the 2nd set came years later and is a whole convoluted story unto itself.

So I'm keeping them. Samba 2K 4 LYFE!!1
