So, I'm crossing Astor Place on St. Mark's and as I'm doing so I see a mob of around fifty santas, smoking, drinking and singing perverted Christmas carols. I then see a guy I recognize as the bartender of an awesome wine bar near my place. He's usually really buttoned up and dapper in a cool suit and interesting glasses. He was in a santa suit and had shaving cream smeared over his head and on his beard region. I asked him what was up and he explained that it was Santacon. When I asked what that was he said "basically a lot of whiskey and running around town." He was about to join the rest of the santas in the punk rock club, the Continental.

Now that's some xmas cheer I could get into. Wish I'd heard of it before today.
