On a slightly related topic, doees anyone have the SBC pro service. Its suppost to be fatser and SBC told me that their upgrading me to that because we just got it in our area.

Did you get an E-mail confermation? They said it should be up by the end of the month but i havent noticed any change or got a e-mail confermation like i did the last time they changed my speed.

No... I always had this speed. The best way to check is to go into your modem diagnostics and see what speed it is locked at. On my moden i just type in "home" in IE and it goes to the diagnostics page. Besides that, you can run some speed tests... the URL for the SBC YAHOO pseedtest is http://help.sbcglobal.net/dsl/speedtest/

Hmm... I actually just checked and I guess my pro only gives me 3meg down... I swear it used to have a max download speed of 5meg, but maybe I am mistaken.

I get 300K/sec download speeds and 50K/sec upload speeds. I like.

It's great. Call SBC, they're online confirmation stuff is ass. That's how I ended up getting the pro for 20 bucks a month plus a free wireless router. I ordered twice online, twice on the phone before it went through and I wasn't even pissed, they just gave it to me. And not to mention the guy threw in a 50 dollar visa gift card

bah.. if you have dsl, switch your isp to dslextreme.. no more stupid sbc to deal with.
