It's an impressive display of focus, intensity, and skill, but he is that good at that pattern because he trains that specific pattern endlessly. That != fighting ability.
When you get to the adult divisions, it is a similar story. Those people are amazing at what they do. But what they do is not fighting. I was never very good at tournaments, either in the weapons divisions, or the open hand forms. But I bet you I could take most of the people who win first place in the forms competitions in an actual fight.
