Battlestar Galactica (SciFi). Post-apocalyptic drama that works brilliantly on so many levels I can't keep track of them all. I remind readers that all 23 episodes of the regular series aired in 2005, from “33” and “Water” all the way to “Pegasus.” The endlessly mysterious Cylons - with their strange monotheistic religion, their bizarre reproductive agenda, their fearlessness, their invulnerability, their unpredictability – make for some of the most fascinating and complex villains ever engineered for any filmed entertainment, big-screen or small. Chief Tyrol and Sharon “Boomer” Valerii coming to terms with Sharon’s sleeper status made for one of the year’s most intriguing storylines. Introducing a second Sharon on Caprica was the definition of inspired. The evolving relationship shared by Bill Adama and Laura Roslin, the almost-retired military man and the schoolteacher suddenly charged with preserving what’s left of the human race, is world-class. Saul Tigh’s wife is hilarious. We’ve seen the first two episodes of 2006 (SciFi resumes colorcasting the series this Friday) and can tell you that there are a lot more surprises to come. Series mastermind Ron Moore, who served as a key player on “Deep Space Nine,” co-wrote “Star Trek: First Contact” and oversaw the first season of “Carnivale,” cements with this series his status as Grand Master Storyteller.

Atlantis has been airing in Canada for weeks. Episodes 11 ("The Hive") up to 15 ("The Tower") are up for download. Episode 16, "The Long Goodbye", airs tonight.

Anyone seen any news updates on Sci-Fi's The Thing miniseries?

Edit: found this on IMDB.

Here's a quote by Frank Darabont I found on upcominghorrormovies.com

"It’s not a remake as much as it is a miniseries sequel to the great John Carpenter movie. It got reported in the trades as a remake but I would not want to remake a movie as good as John Carpenter’s. But to do a loving sequel as a miniseries really does appeal to me. Then you’re not screwing up somebody’s great movie. "

BSG is the best scifi series on TV since Star Trek: NG/DS9. I cannot wait.
Awsome couple of months incoming. Between The Shield and BSG. :D

What's the deal with Battlestar? I haven't started watching any of it yet, but I noticed only half of the 2nd season was released on DVD, is this correct? So they are resuming the 2nd season on Friday and then will release the last half of the season on DVD?

That's pretty f'd up.

It is kind of, however the first half of Season 2 really just wraps things up from Season 1. The second half of Season 2 starts new stuff.

How many episodes is the first half of Season 2?

Will there be some kind of a cumulative boxset when all of season 2 is done? I think splitting up the season box sets is extremely stupid. Why the hell would someone pay full price for half a season.

Because you aren't paying full price for half the season. You're paying half of the normal season box price.

And no, they're just going to do a Season 2.5 box.

I've gotta watch the mini-series and Season One before Thursday when the first half of Season Two is being shown on Scifi as a marathon. Gonna be rough.

Just finished watching Season 1. HOLY SHIT!

Best show ever.

Yup.

My favorite episode by far is The Hand of God. Adama kicks so much ass in that episode. I'm downloading it for my iPod tomorrow from the iTunes store. Only episode I care enough about to put on it.

TLG was good. Love seeing Weir that way, a total
bitch
. :D

The Hive was boring for me. So was Ephinany. And the worst episode ever: The Tower.

Critical Mass, Grace Under Pressure and The Long Goodbye were solid. Can't wait for the remaning episodes.

The Long Goodbye was okish. Atlantis has been pretty weak this season. Hope it picks up a whole lot more before season 2 comes to an end.

I am so ready for Galactica to return. I've been rewatching some of the first half of season 2 in HD on UniversalHD this week, and now I'm stoked for tonights new episode. Great show, and I'm so happy it's been making some "Best of 2005" lists. It deserves it!

That's incorrect.

Season One US box (13 45 min. episodes + four-hour miniseries, so call it 18 eps): MSRP $60 ($38.99 at Amazon)

MSRP per ep: $3.33
Amazon price per ep: $2.16

Season 2.0 (10 episodes): MSRP $50 ($31.99 at Amazon)

MSRP per ep: $5
Amazon price per ep: $3.19

There's far less content for the price in these half-season boxes. Not to mention that one of the episodes is going to be recycled with 15 minutes of extra footage in the season 2.5 box.

I'm hoping for a killer deal from Best Buy on the season bundled together when it eventually comes out.

I'm so ready for Galactica!

I'm already bracing myself for what's obviously going to be a cliff hanger based the title of tonight's show.

Resurrection Ship Part 1

I just noticed that iPodder already downloaded the commentary for tonight's new episode of BSG. Can't wait to watch it twice tonight (once without commentary then once with). :)
