You're welcome.

Noticed a lot of posts that are quoted posts go unreplied and people cannot properly respond because they didnt realize they had been quoted in the first place. Here is a simple way to use the search to see if you have been quoted.

PM'd two mods to see if i could get the okay for this thread and after a day I got no replies so I assume this is alright.

EDIT: guess you can just type in your username.....not sure if there is a work around for poeple with words as names

DBLEDIT: If you do not have a unique username use this...thanks Neuromancer
This is what I've been doing for years.

1. Go to Google.
2. Enter
Code:
site:neogaf.com "Originally posted by [your user name here]"
3. Hit enter, click search tools, pick 'Past 24 hours' or 'Past week', then select 'Sorted by date.'
4. Bookmark this page for future reference.

They should just bring back the who quoted me feature. However, I didn't know I could do this so thank you. I always thought people ignored my posts that didn't contain questions.

I don't even bother with the whole "quote=" part. may as well get in all the other times people mention me too

Yeah, best feature.

I hope they can make it work without taking too many resources someday.

I'm not sure that the = or brackets actually do anything, since it seems to search based on the keywords:

Search: Keyword(s): quote, uncle

And I seem to get the same results if I just search with those words.

Thanks for this and the other tips in this thread.

I tend to revisit threads days after and when I see my posts quoted, I feel it would be too late to respond.

I think the issue is that the search strips out the equal sign, which makes the search more broad for common-word user names.

Google search with "Originally posted by" works but unfortunately it doesn't work on GAF.

When I'm on the computer, this is literally what I'm doing every 5 minutes.
