See you Thursday, June 11 at 1:00pm Pacific time (9:00pm BST) for a look at the future of gaming

People say Sony didnt do shitby delaying, but protest participants increased after the delay. Forcing the house to pass legislation. Sony reannounces the event immediately after. hmphh?

Sony confirmed that the stream will be 1080P at 30FPS. All these events have already been recorded. I don't understand why everyone continues to do this shit. It's not live. Just upload the video in 4K/60FPS. No one is going to skip any of it anyway. SMH.

Budget android phones film in 4k now, there's no excuse for this anymore lol.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing what games they show off, and hopefully get to see the console itself. Would be cool if HZD2 and Spiderman 2 were both there. Not holding out hope for a price announcement quite yet though.

I really do hope it's all about games. Hopefully it doesnt get bogged down in the middle by a long 3D audio segment or something like that, although I suppose that could be cool for audio enthusiasts.

Should be a good show nonetheless.

Why in the fuck are they streaming it in 1080p 30 FPS?
It's not a stream: https://blog.playstation.com/2020/06/08/updated-time-this-thursday-see-the-future-of-gaming-on-ps5/

this pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. This eased the show's production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you'll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you'd expect.

i was going to say this too, correct me if im wrong but you 4k isnt even an option on twitch.
I can't say about Twitch but my TV lost the 4k option in YouTube, Prime and Netflix since the pandemic started.
I opened a ticked and they said that when the situation get better the things will be back to norm.

BTW they are open saying that:

Hoping for less "here are games you can play in 5 years, when ps6 is released" and more "these are launch window games, these games can be played from the ps4, games will also get performane boosts, this is the new ui, this is the console design, if you buy this game digitally you get the ps5 version too, the controller can do this" etc.

thank the gaming gods

finally it's time to find out if these Bloodborne/Demon's Souls remaster rumors have any truth to them

You should add to OP that it's only going to be streamed at 1080@30fps.
And it looks like, that there won't be a 4K version at all, since it wasn't even produced. The production was limited to 1080@30fps, due to covid:

To think some people went mental over a 7 day delay.. 😏

Anyway, gimme Horizon. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Not just the delay or the pandering, but the in game messages. It's one step away from in game ads or banner ads, which is one step away from a premium version of the game.

Gen 7: DLC and Season pass
Gen 8: Loot boxes and P2W
Gen 9: Ads and premium versions of games.

Anyway, OT!!!!!

Bring it the funk on

As much as I anticipate what Bluepoint is doing, hoping personally for Demon's Souls myself, I'm quite excited to see what else shows up to excite as per Sony tradition. It'd be so cool to see a new Final Fantasy, Resident Evil 8 and Silent Hills if those rumors are true. I want those interesting stories, characters and settings back. I'll never forget the impact those had on my sister and I during the PS1-2 era. Regardless I'm psyched!

1080p and 30fps?

Why

Official reason? I'm guessing streaming 1080p@30fps is a lot less load on the servers than 4k@60. and seems as every man, women, otherkin and their grandmothers will be tuning in, it makes sense.

Unofficial reason? all da gaymz on pee-o-ess fyv wil onlee B ten eytees and a P at firdy fraymz purr seckund lulululululu meyekrsoft winz herp derp. (Only joking. No console wars)

This scared me more than I would like to admit.

1080p doesn't surprise me, pretty much every IP/stream service scaled back the quality of video streaming due to ridiculously high demand in this time of COVID-19.

As long as they release proper directfeed 4k/60 or 1440p/60 or whatever is it later, I'm cool

I'm guessing Sony had a lot of agreements to show off many games on their show. This is why other devs had to push their stuff later. Basically it's possible Sony's presentation will open the floodgates for gaming news
