So from reading and posting in the If revmote is a success, will PS3 and X360 offer clone controllers? thread, I decided to go on an information hunt on similar controls i've seen in the past. Heres what I dug up....

These pictures are for a NON GAMING control. Appearently its supposed to interface to Windows or something and control basic applications (like Windows Media Player)
The words in the picture are not blurry in the original source site. The Wand itself contains an LED, Magnetometer, IR LED, Accelerometer, PIC Microcontroller, Gyro, A single Button, and uses 4 AAA batteries (its 1.5" in diameter)

Take it for what you will but it seems like all three Companies already had this technology in mind (so it seems). Nintendo is the only company that decided to go with it full throtle and base a console around it.
