This is out now, isn't it? I have mine on order, should arrive next week (while I'll be on vacation). Just looking for some quick impressions. Any noticeable changes or improvements?

Working Designs, you're our only hope!*

An incredibly dated and unfunny script.

Someone better pick this up for a US release, if not then I will have no choice but to use my legendary Japanese skills!!!

Damn, looking at those screenshots I really miss this game. Sure it was a fucked up game that was sorta like Ogre Battle but it was so good.

not to mention a script that had the dialogue edited down due to the space constraints of the text boxes in the japanese version, as i remember vic mentioning on usenet back in the day.

seems likely someone will pick it up if it'll pass approval, given the dedicated audience. i'll suggest it to atlus, actually.

A hundred sprites from two armies colliding into one another made those Braveheart-like battles satisfyingly chaotic. The character management wasn't so tedious since each of the multitude of generals was successfully given a distinct personality despite the meager space for dialogue, and following a story which developed on more than one level kept it interesting. Story driven strategy games like this one facilitate storytelling from multiple perspectives, and playing several of the characters in Dragon Force granted better insight. The orchestral music was a rousing choice for keeping to the warpath. The artwork also did its part by jumping off of the screen from the use of a glowing color palette.
