Skin said:Far from it. These things are fun and sell pretty well iirc.
Kroole said:So?
I don't care how much these things are going to sell. Going from a producer of highly original and absolutely brilliant pieces of software to a copy-cat is quite a leap.

Why do you think that is?Skin said:... and not yet available on PSP afaik.

Yeah! Goddamit, Sega! Return to making the absolutely brilliant software you used toKroole said:Going from a producer of highly original and absolutely brilliant pieces of software to a copy-cat is quite a leap.
That wasn't my point (although I do have my doubt that this will sell). My point was, that the reason why these games aren't yet available for PSP is because Nintendo first had the idea to adapt the franchise into video games. Which is why people are accusing Sega of being a copy cat. Which you don't seem to get.Skin said:Just because it hasn't been done before doesn't mean it isn't gonna sell smartass.

Kurosaki Ichigo said:People should stop thiking that Brain Training and Dogs games didnt exist before NDS :lol
Kroole said:Actually Dog$ I meant the (late) saturn and the DS era.
Miburou said:Isn't there a line of books called Brain Training? I'm sure I saw those in Tokyo being sold next to the DS games. It's not like Nintendo invented them or something.
NintendosBooger said:I'm actually surprised it was SEGA and not EA who jumped on this bandwagon first.

There have been a lot of dogs, to be sure, but I really don't know there are more than a few 3rd party publishersthat could compete with their best work.
VerTiGo said:The funny thing about Outrun 2 is that it took forever to grow on me. It's a good arcade game but that doesn't appeal too to many people anymore. There have been some good games from Sega this gen but I think they've put out more stinkers than anything else.
Beach Spikers was pretty awesome too and let's not forget that F-Zero GX is probably one of the best racing games ever made.

Sega still rocks in my book... sometimes.
They've always released a fair share of stinkers along with their gems. I don't know why the perception of them seeems to have shifted so much... I guess now that they don't have their own platform, their rabid fanbase has taken a hit, but I still can't ignore the intermittent awesomeness of Sega.

Brain Training or Doggy simulators may be invented by some company other than Nintendo, but Nintendo worked out everything like no other games company could. Brain Training on DS is more suitable for the elderly, for example, because they can just write down stuff and hold the DS like a book, while Brain Training on the PSP you have to use circle, square, x and triangle, which isn't as intuitive as writing it down or simply pointing and touching it with a stylus.jarrod said:As usual, Nintendo's an innovator, not an inventor. They didn't come up with the concept of "Brain Training" but they were the only company with the foresight to apply the concept to dedicated game machines. And as usual, they're the ones reaping the rewards of that progressive software application.
