Sega wtf (really short Shadow The Hedgehog impression).

It gets better. It turns out he's not an android or a clone but... he's part alien! Thats right, the aliens helped out Professor Gerald Robotnik from SA2 to make Shadow! Theres even a ultra-cheesey almost "JOIN ME AND WE CAN RULE THE GALAXY!" ending.

You then have to get all 10 different endings before unlocking the Last Story.

The game is utter horseshit.

This game is total ass like most of the 3D Soncs, but it IS a lot better than Sonic Heroes.

I just got through playing both games for a couple hours(I love to torture myself!), and I can confirm this.

UGh.

Then I played Sonic CD and Sonic Rush and I felt better about myself.

was this made by an american development team or something? i don't think it is, and asking such a question is kind of a moot point ... but i played it on my little cousin's console over thnxgiving break and :-/ ... i don't understand how team sonic or whatever could fuck this up so horribly

Shadow the Hedgehog is shovelware churned out quickly by Sega to try to make a quick buck for the holiday season. Nothing more, nothing less. It's no better or worse than selling a copy of Finding Nemo: The game or Simpsons: Hit and Run to a 12 year old kid.

How in the world is Shadow better than Heroes? Heroes would have been perfectly fine had they polished it a bit. No amount of polish could save Shadow from suckage.

Oh my god. I was playing Heroes and it is SUCH a mess. It is so boring it's not even funny. The random boss fights, the chaotic fighting system, the ear-grating music, the shitty voices(admittedly worse in SHadow, but still...).

UGH. I do like the bullet train level. At least I actually CONTROL my character in that level at times. I mean, everything is so 'hold your hand'. Attack an enemy? Just jump and use your homing attack! Run? Just push up! and go through ramps.

Oh, and it's fucking slow as all hell. Maybe its because I've been playing Sonic Rush recently, but playing Sonic Heroes felt like playing Crash Bandicoot or some generic PS1 platformer. I'm like, RUN FASTER YOU FURRY BASTARDS! IT'S A FUCKIN' SONIC GAME.

Shadow does play a bit faster and the pace is much better.(Though no less random or chaotic...)

There goes my only reason to play the game. I don't know whether to thank you or not.

The boss fights are indeed horrible. Running boss battles? Urgh. The fighting is quite easy to handle if you're adept at the form switching. And Heroes is one of Senoue's best works yet in terms of bad butt rock and all. Also how in the world is it slow? Have you tried to get A ranks in Heroes yet? It's hardcore fast action platforming. But the biggest key is having the reflex to switch forms on the fly. And were you playing this on PS2? GC is the best version to play for both Shadow and Heroes. Finally, Shadow's sense of speed is outrageous with the horrible camera and extremely oversensitive controls. But if you ask me, it seems just about the same as Heroes, except the controls/camera weren't that bad.

OK, so basically, even if I enjoyed Heroes and the other 3D Sonics (obviously nowhere near as much as the 2D games, mind you), I should still avoid Shadow at all costs? It sounds like a train wreck to me...

Oh no no, I'm gold at the game. I got all A ranks, mastered it and everything, yaddayaddayadda.

It's still as slow as sliding shit, though, and isn't any fun(with the exception of the aformentioned Bullet Train zone). Shadow is slow too, only not quite as much so..less 'switching characters' helps.

Sonic Adventure 2 had some FAST levels. That very last stage where you play as Sonic or Shadow was ace. And the forest level is great as well. A whole Sonic game like this, please!

If you liked Heroes you might like it.

The only thing I can really say that I do like is that you can choose your path(Evil, good, or meh). The game is pretty short and does move pretty quickly.

I'd recommend a rental before even considering buying it though. It's a far cry from Sonic Adventure 2's Shadow/Sonic zones.

And it ain't worth 50 bucks(what are you thinking, Sega? Well, it seems to be selling quite well, so...)

The last Sonic and Shadow levels on SA2 had my heart pumping the first time I ran them, especially Sonic's.

I returned the game today, and you know what? I wish I had bought it. That way I could at least return it to Gamestop and get store credit for it. But the way it is now, I just wasted a free rental and get nothing else out of it, and that makes me feel gyped.

I liked the 3D Sonics and I still don't like Shadow at all. The camera is worse than any of the 3D Sonics, the controls are about as bad as i've sene in a game and the gun combat is bad because of how hard it is to aim. I was one actually defending Shadow at one time because some of the levels did look cool, but that can't help how bad everything else is.

You know Shadow's bad when my mom bursted out laughing at the game for like five minutes straight while at Best Buy. Seriously. She knows about Sonic because I loved Sonic back in the Genesis days, and she couldn't believe what she was seeing. :lol

At least we got Sonic Rush.
