Not sure why you would want them off, unless I'm missing something.
Took a few screenshots so I can make a mini-guide for people.
Character animations have been improved and the "hometown" is now bouncy in addition to "life."
Megaton right here!
#TeamHometown
more like preorder canceled

-The visuals are noticeably better than Shinovi Versus, particularly the backgrounds. Maybe this sounds like a weird thing to notice, but the ground textures are much better overall. Character animations have been improved and the "hometown" is now bouncy in addition to "life."
Thanks for the impressions. I've never played the 3DS games so I don't think I will be missing much.
My only worry is it doesn't look like the mobs are that aggressive but perhaps I have just been watching early levels/lower difficulties. The new transformations and specials are much improved.
Except for those fat rolling ninjas. Even on the regular difficulty setting they give me problems. Same in Estival Versus, lol. I have yet to try adjusting the difficulty since I'm still in the very beginning; I will do that today. IIRC the game defaults to easy.
If you have a 3DS, I would recommend getting SK2. It has its own flaws but is still pretty awesome. I think it's the most challenging out of all these games. Skip SK1/Burst.
The bears? They're annoying in groups, but if you just dodge them until after certain attacks they leave wide openings. Then you just keep comboing one until it dies, only problem is if one rolls into you while you're doing that. The turtles are worse IMO depending on character. If you don't have a good/easy to use breach art they're hell.
This is different enough from the 3DS ones that I have no idea what I'm doing. Is there a guide somewhere listing all the things you can do in battle?
Good eye. Fixed!
Did you play the first six or so stages? Those are all tutorial levels.
Disappointing to hear the game is a step down from SK2, especially since a lot of the vocal fans here seem to be perfectly happy skipping it even as they import this one.
In lewdness, it has seemed for a long time this would be the king of the castle so it's not surprising at all to hear that's true.
I might grab a PS4 copy in the next week or so. Haven't really decided yet but we'll see how everyone ends up liking it overall.

I'm sure it's fine, just disappointing that the improvements from 2 weren't retained. That one is my favorite of the first three games.I don't think people are saying its bad just its a different game with a different approach. Its still loads of fun.
Game starts with Ryona. Bless. I've taken a screenshot of like every single animation of hers in cutscenes. They really do the cutscenes well. Ryobi seems more fun to play too
I'm sure you all have valid concerns, but holy FUCK is this game ever improved by good IQ, 60 FPS and a real controller. If the "main" series is really so much better they desperately need to include a home console port of it too. Mere minutes in and this clicks in a way that over an hour of SK2 never did. 3DS absolutely ruins my ability to enjoy that or Burst (though IMO Burst is just boring)

But the Vita has no trouble in control .
3DS hardware is a different story, though. It hampered my enjoyment toward many games and I decided to give up on this for good. Not like there are many games I want to play, but it's still sad to have to abandon some games because of such reason.
Can Ryōbi handle turtle people better now?
Impressions after more play time with the Vita version:
-Updated to 1.02. Not seeing a difference in framerate. It seems to fluctuate depending on the stage. The beach level is the worst in this regard. Everything is still very playable, though.
-Stages from Shinovi Versus are reused. There's more detail and/or new background objects here and there, but it's still kind of disappointing to see this kind of laziness going on.
-Estival Versus plays slower than the other versions of the game. Senran Kagura 2 in particular feels much faster in comparison.
-This game is very much a direct sequel to Shinovi Versus gameplay-wise. The extra abilities/stances from SK2 are not present. Instead there are some new moves/combos and chargeable attacks. Some characters can charge square and triangle attacks.
-You can now wall-run and can bounce off walls and into enemies.
-The difference in character speeds is much more noticeable now. Some of the characters with heavier weapons are slow and lumbering but very powerful. This may turn some players off.
-There's a new mechanic when doing air chains, with R+O. If you have a partner with you, you can do a crazy auto air combo on multiple enemies with a cinematic finish.
-There does not seem to be a way to switch between partners. Instead, when someone is with you, you can command them to attack or do the aforementioned air move. Did not see anything about dual supers, which SK2 has, in the tutorial levels.
-Another new addition are various types of bombs. You can pick one up at a time and they have different properties besides exploding times, such as one that freezes enemies in place.
-Like SK2, all of the stages now have three difficulty levels selectable right from the start.
-Confirmation that an English version is coming already? The game icon has English text and all of the trophies are in English.
-The visuals are noticeably better than Shinovi Versus, particularly the backgrounds. Maybe this sounds like a weird thing to notice, but the ground textures are much better overall. Character animations have been improved and the "hometown" is now bouncy in addition to "life."
-Asuka's grandma is quite well-endowed and yes, bouncy. Uh...good for the geriatric-loving fans, I guess...?
-Some of the shinobi transformations are ridiculously lewd, even for Senran Kagura. I don't know how they are going to top this in future games, lol. Senran Kagura 2 is ridiculously tame in comparison to this.
-There's menus all over the place. You have the main menu, then another menu with multiple options, then another menu with multiple options after loading up the story mode. The latter is where you can select levels, customize characters, and all the other familiar stuff from the other games.
-Unless something is unlocked, I'm not seeing any individual character story levels. In fact, the game now just goes from character to character with everything being one big story. There is another mode with stages to select, but everything is locked, with clear conditions listed.
That's all for tonight. Hopefully the PS4 version will arrive tomorrow; really interested in seeing how much smoother the game will play at 60 FPS and the increased amount of enemies on-screen.
I didn't really research my purchase, I just wanted the figures #yolo
There's a DLC code with the first-print art booklet and there was another one inside the collector's edition box. I don't think I got any retailer specific goodies--just the standard off ami ami. No Yumi cell phone holder/whatever.
katsuragi lines are killing me , this is just too much
The first print art booklet is what I'm trying to find out if it's included in my purchase, since I thought it's included in every first-print copy, but PA didn't say anything about, even when I asked, and just told me there DLC codes.
Guys the game is freaking gorgeous on 1080p ..
Those etxtures
so far i really like the look of the game and how clean it is.
Why why why does save default to a new slot. Why why why is save not automatic in a game with strictly linear progress =/
Sounds annoying. Send XSEED an email requesting the localized version to fix this so that it's the same as SV at least, where it defaults to your current save.
Having a setting to auto-save would be pretty nice.
My vita copy doesn't come in until Monday how's the PS4 version?
<_< I wish I could actually read some of it.
One of the best anime styled games I've ever seen actually, I'm real hyped for Neptunia Victory now. GG Xrd is the king of course but damn, this is fine.
I hate that I'm gonna have to double dipBTW protip, if you can't read a bit of japanese like me, just press X to hide the text window and let them talk with no text boxes. Easier to take screenshots and prettier in general.
Did they actually change that? I'm never sure how much localizers an really change
Fantastic.
I've heard other people have experienced it as well. Also got a weird glitch where Yozokura's body didn't load during a conversation scene so she was just a talking head.
So customs is holding my copy because they think it has "questionable content" and need further examination. How screwed I am if they only check the menu and stuffs or some running around?

Customs confiscates boobies? What country? Never had an issue with customs in the US anyway
Vietnam. Where people boast about the refine culture and criticize ecchi stuffs. No Sex Ed before 18 because kids are supposed to be pure until adult/marriage.
Porn and things will be confiscated at sight. Ecchi stuff is depending on how bad the content is, but I have friend that needed to bribe customs because of some nude artbook (not even porn) he bought.
No Life, no Hometown, just despair.
