Senran Kagura Estival Versus is coming to PC complete with Ikki Tousen DLC

XSeed announced today that they're bringing Senran Kagura: Estival Versus to PC this March. Also they're bringing over the previously Japan exclusive Ikki Tousen DLC, which will release on all three of the game's platforms.

In this strange world – which resembles a sunny, sandy island paradise – the girls are thrown for another loop as they encounter departed loved ones and ultimately have to decide if they can bear to part from them a second time. The Windows PC version of Estival Versus follows successful Steam releases of previous entries in the Senran Kagura series, including Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus and Senran Kagura: Bon Appétit! – Full Course.

With over twenty-five playable characters, making this the biggest roster in the series' history, Senran Kagura: Estival Versus boasts more moves, more story, more attitude, and more destruction online with matches that can support up to 10 players (Windows PC and PS4 system versions only; ”PS Vita" system supports up to 4 players). All of the series' previous Shinobi girls return with a host of upgraded moves to master, and new playable characters offer more challenges to conquer, along with a story that's equal parts sexy and shocking, serious and scandalous, busty and bouncy.

The faithful adaptation to PC has been handled by the original developers at Marvelous Inc. and Tamsoft, with added Steamworks support including Steam Achievements, leaderboards, cloud saves, and trading cards.

Wow, that's great!
Really not my favourite in the series, and arguably the worst in terms of writing, but still a really fun beat them up nonetheless!
I wish they could/would port the 3DS games on PC too, love them...

I think its interesting that XSeed is showing off screenshots higher res than 1080p. Shinovi didn't allow under normal circumstances for people to select resolutions higher than that.

The mods for Shinovi were kind of awful so I wouldn't count on it.

It will have been a year since the PS4/Vita version came out, that DLC is going to fucking bomb on those platforms. Wish they had worked that all out a whole lot sooner and I would have totally bought it.

Glad to see it coming to PC though, more life and hometown for everyone.

I have the PS4 version but I haven't even played it yet. Eh, might double dip for the mods improved picture quality.

Aww man, I think the best news is that we are finally getting the Ikkitousen dlc. I had given up all hope on getting it done almost a year has gone by. This is just made my day 😁

Wonder what the price for this. I found the game was weaker story wise than Shinovi, which impacted my enjoyment of the actual gameplay. So hopefully it's price around 30 or so, which is more fair than the 50 it was on PS4

I'll be interested to know what was the reason for the holdup on the Ikki Tousen stuff. Was it a licensor not playing ball, or were they waiting for an old contract to expire, or what?

I wish I could pretend I didn't buy this game in that big PSN sale, but I did. And worse, I actually liked it a lot too.

Surprised people care much for the story, tho. I watched the first cutscene, realized my brain cells were evaporating at an alarming rate, and skipped every single subsequent cutscene. I just wanted to beat stuff up while making sure no one walked into the room. There's no denying this is the most exploitative game this side of DoA Volleyball.

If I had to wager a guess, maybe it was just expensive to license and also a bit of a mess to get worked out, so time helped work out the mess, and a PC port was the perfect time to help pay for the extra cost of licensing the DLC characters.

I like reading the character backstories in the game. A lot of the characters have a really tragic past, and while its a bit jarring due to the major tone shifts in the game, it still fleshes out the characters and makes them a bit more interesting and seem more like real characters.

This was one of the most obvious port announcements ever, between how the previous games did and Xseed/Marvelous releasing pretty much everything on PC nowadays. Cool that they got the Ikkitousen license worked out, even though it took forever.

I bought endless summer edition for PS4 and didnt even open it yet but im glad to hear the Ikkitousen characters are finally coming to the west.

Whats the next step, Keijo characters?

Xseed previously said it was due to licensing issues, though considering there was never an Ikki Tousen game in the US (I think a PS2 or PSP game was originally was going to, but was cancelled due to getting a M rating when they wanted T, but also didn't want to change anything to anger fans), the manga was licensed by Tokyopop but they went under, & Funimation shouldn't have posed a problem since they only have anime rights.

They already confirmed Peach Beach Splash will have collaboration characters, & if they somehow don't work in a Keijo character when DoA Xtreme 3 got swimsuits from Keijo, I'll be kind of shocked.

All versions get the Ikki Tousen DLC. It sounds like they will launch on PS4/V with the PC version.

They already confirmed Peach Beach Splash will have collaboration characters, & if they somehow don't work in a Keijo character when DoA Xtreme 3 got swimsuits from Keijo, I'll be kind of shocked.

Cool, thanks for the info.

I'd be more motivated if they actually had an unique story or missions (or trophies), but like Ayane, they can only be used on previously cleared missions, making it feel like they don't really offer much to the game's already huge cast, especially since to progress in the game, you HAVE to use pre-determined characters.

I knew it! I beat Senran Kagura on Vita, it comes to PC. Beat the newest Onechanbara on Ps4, it comes to PC. I beat Estival Versus on Ps4, it comes to PC. If I weren't a couple of levels from beating Valkyrie Drive, I'd wait for it's eventual PC version as well (and that game runs real bad on Vita).

It's not that I'm unhappy that these games are getting PC releases, I just hate how it's always after I've beaten them (and I rarely double dip). Still, it's real cool that everyone is getting the Ikkitousen DLC

Wait, really?

.....I can't imagine this was Funimation's fault. They shouldn't have any gaming rights over the series, just the anime. & Valcon Games, the people who were originally going to bring that PS2 Ikki Tousen game to the US, doesn't seem to be in operation anymore.
