And then Cena goes heel. The Frankman said:Brett Hart is a better talker than you think. Also he needs to put John Cena in the Sharpshooter and make him tap plz.
The prices are pretty standard for a wrestling event down here. It's all those meet and greet packages that are exorbitant.Azuran said:That tour is gonna bomb so hard. Have you guys checked the ticket prices? Hogan is officially senile.
AWKWARD? It singlehandedly saved the Abraham Washington Show from being completely unbearable. :lolPenguin said:Tony Atlas is pretty akward with his phony laugh.

You should all buy this DVD. Those are some great matches (the 4th match is maybe my MOTY). It's also just $1.99. If you want to see something different from WWE, TNA or even ROH then this is a must buy. Like I said its just $1.99 so whats to lose?If you're bouncing around in this forum, you already know that CHIKARA is chock-full of awesomeness. But as you may have discovered, the wrestling world at large has yet to discover this well-kept secret. Luckily for us, thanks to the overwhelming success of Dragon Gate USA: Enter the Dragon (that pay-per-view dilly-o!) more and more people are starting to hear about us. ...still, it is not enough to satisfy our gigantic appetite for new fans!
To remedy this situation, we are issuing the CHIKARA Sampler DVD! It will be produced, processed and shipped out by our pals at Smart Mark Video.com! Starting Monday, September 28th, through October 3rd, this 2-hour set will be offered for the low, low price of just $1.99! Why would we do such a thing? Because we're hoping to give new fans a chance to check us out, and maybe convert to the CHIKARMY!
So, this is the part where you come in. Chances are, you visit other pro-wrestling websites, news boards, forums, the works. There are loads of places out there that never cover anything related to CHIKARA, but we want every site we can find to carry news about our Sampler DVD. We need people to find out about this offer, and through it, find out that inside them was a lil' CHIKARA fan they never knew existed.
As we've discovered, when it comes to selling people on CHIKARA, few do it as sincerely and passionately as you, our totally rad fans. That's why we're appealing to you to aid us in this cause. Come Monday, we'll have an official press release posted right here in this thread for you to cut and paste to death! We'll also cook up some banners and such to spread the word, and as soon as we get the info from SMV, we'll have the direct link to order the Sampler.
And just in case you're wondering exactly what will be on this Sampler of ours, here's the rundown:
1) Mike Quackenbush, Jigsaw, Helios & Lince Dorado
vs. Hallowicked, Frightmare, Hallowickedcito & Frightmarecito [from "Aniversario Yang"]
2) Eddie Kingston vs. Claudio Castagnoli [from "Aniversario Yang"]
3) F.I.S.T. vs. The Future is Now [from "King of Trios 2009 - Night 3"]

c) CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go, Episode # 173
As ever, thanks for your support, and thanks in advance for any help you can lend our team in spreading the word about this little venture of ours.
Your pals @ CHIKARA

Arhal_Katarn said:OMG if Bret comes back i will mark the fuck out. Hopefully he will give Cena a Sharpshooter or one of his famous piledrivers. I guess he will be used in some kind of GM role or something though, still if it happens it would be awesome.
Still not as good as the Rock returning though.

joking aside, i will pick it up. Good luck trying to get more attention to Chikara though. Despite all the bitching, most wrestling fansites and podcasts are devoted bashing WWE and TNA and lamenting the Attitude era more than anything else.
That is 100% the situation. it's just easier to bitch and complain about Triple HHH and John Cena or whatever than to actually have a conversation about the wrestling industry as a whole, especially if your podcast and you are expected to update yourself every week.DKehoe said:It annoys me that so many people complain about wrestling being bad just now but don't bother to look at anything other than WWE or maybe TNA. I think some people actually just like complaining about how things aren't as good as the attitude era. There is a load of awesome stuff just now. I realise the main problem is having to pay for it and there being a risk of not liking what you buy but like I said its just $1.99. All of the matches are great and three of them are Match of the Year contenders to me.
How much do you like the following titles for a future WWE event where the main event matches are contested in an Elimination Chamber?
Chamber of Conflict
Heavy Metal
Elimination Chamber
Battle Chamber
No Way Out

And well this PPV is butchered to hell, they got rid of the Highway to Hell song, pretty much half of the ring is blurred out. :lol
And they plaster the new logo over the old one for the title graphic.
I see what he's saying, but it's not entertaining (anymore? lol). Chavo probably knows this, and the fact we rather see him wrestling Evan Bourne and having himself in a legitimate angle than wrestle, or lack thereof, with a midget.Chavo Guerrero posted a few messages on his Twitter account defending his ongoing storyline with Hornswoggle:
"You all realize that it's not wrestling anymore, right?" Guerrero wrote. "It's entertainment. Sometimes I wonder by your comments.
"You guys realize that I can out "wrestle" most guys in the WWE, right? The way you guys respond makes me think that you actually think I'm losing. It makes me think I'm responding to RETARDS! We're not the UFC. It's not real. I can beat up a midget any day of the week and so could you. But who wants to see that?"

Charmicarmicat said:That's the story yeah. Also, Hogan was meant to return the favour but hurt his knee, a lot of people say he made the injury up to get out of it, and I'm pretty sure Shawn made a sly reference to that one time on a Raw.
I love that match btw, i truly believe that Shawn is a changed man since his return, but it's good to see the old dick-Michaels is still in there somewhere![]()

:lol He comes across like such a dick right here, like his whole comeback is 'yeah well if it were real i would beat that midget like it owed me money!?!' Fucking funny thoughChavo Guerrero posted a few messages on his Twitter account defending his ongoing storyline with Hornswoggle:

DKehoe said:I think a lot of people don't like to admit it but they like the spectacle of WWE events (the pyro, big arenas etc.) and as much as they complain about workrate and young guys not getting put over in those promotions they are put off by the lower production quality of Indys.
I do think downloading has its place in Indy wrestling. That's how I discovered Chikara. I downloaded one show to check it out but since then I have bought a bunch of their DVDs.
I really can't stress enough to people how great that DVD is especially at that price.
arstal said:ROH also has a TV show in some markets as well, if they're still in business.
Bootaaay said:Even if you don't get HDnet you can watch the TV show on the ROHbrazil youtube channel; http://www.youtube.com/user/ROHBrazil
Also, unless you believe some of the junk printed in the dirt sheets ROH isn't going anywhere. Hell, a few months back the dirt sheets claimed ROH were in deep trouble and couldn't even pay their wrestlers, yet fast forward two months and they're still expanding into new markets and flying in Japanese talent.
Outcast2004 said:Um... their paychecks were bouncing.
Outcast2004 said:The HDnet deal is drainign them dry and well as their DVD sales slipping... bad combo.
Outcast2004 said:They're flying in Japanese talent to help cover the talent losses.

Bootaaay said:So sayeth the dirt sheets, but it's not like these guys are unbookable anywhere else, if ROH can't pay their wages why are they still busting their hump for ROH week in week out when they could be picking up more bookings in promotions that can actually pay their wages?
Bootaaay said:The HDnet deal costs them next to nothing - HDnet provide and pay for the entire production, while ROH has to cover the cost of running the show. The only major downsides to the deal are that they have to film in Philly and judging by the recent attendances the crowd are getting burned out on the TV taping format, so they are having to give out a lot of comp tickets to fill out the numbers - that certainly has to be costing them, and the fact that they can't recoup DVD sales from the TV taped shows.
If ROH goes under, he wont have to worry about said contract.Bootaaay said:Even the dirt sheets can agree that while there's interest, he's contracted to ROH. If anyone else goes, i'd suspect it'd be the Briscoes. Also, while Cabana had a dark match for TNA, I can't see him being put to good use in that promotion.
