Chances are with all the other games you play you wont need anything but the AI, I know I dont.
Toonami 99 said:I need some tips with urien, ive been practicing with him for 2 weeks now and i can do some advance juggles, but I cant seem to get his <charge> FK to come out multiple times for juggling. Does anyone have any advice? Also what is charge buffering?
Unblockables aren't glitches. The people who made SF3 knew what they were doing. No way they didn't know that moves that go extremely slowly / stand still lead to unblockable situations. Besides, unblockables are the only thing that keeps Urien in the upper tier. Without them he's crap.Mr. Rellik said:Urien, is a glitch. Unblockables, huge damage combos from pseudo buffering charges. They at least fixed the unblockables in the DC version. then reverted back in SFAC. :/
The Aegis is slow. Therefore it leads to unblockable situations. Same with the Oro's Yagyou and to a lesser degree his EX fireball. Besides, you can avoid the situations by quickstanding unless you were hit by a previous Aegis.Mr. Rellik said:how does aegis after knockdown then doing an unblockable on wakeup = slow?
Oh you can do that shit in AC, it's arcade perfect. Just practice I guess. I'm not an Urien player so I can't help on the actual execution of it. But it's been done to me (if you're talking to that corner tackle -> tackle -> ex tackle -> tackle combo)Toonami 99 said:so you cant do multiple <charge> FK in DC or AC, damn! oh well at least I got a good juggle combo in those versions.
thanks for the info

Awesome, we just need 3 more people (if we're keeping it at 8 only), but they MUST be dedicated. Too many people who signed on and then dissapeared killed the last one.Nikashi said:Hey guys, I'm trying to start another SF3 Xbox Live tourney (No Hyper SF2 this time), check the Online forum to sign up, but please read the rules first.
No no, he wants to see GAFFERS fight. Just to watch it, see some non-professional vids going on, I think it's a sweet idea. I'd love to see myself fight and see what I do wrong without realising it (STOP JUMPING FUCKER!).Toonami 99 said:Red Scarlet

I have that vid, I'll put it up when I get home (~6pm), but if someone beats me to it that'll be fine by me.yudaan said:If anyone can find the full Daigo vs Justin Wong EVO2k4 match (I think it was a Quicktime file when I had it last) and not the ending clip that everyone has, it would be greatly appreciated.

I WANT TO BE GOOD DAMNIT
I know it'll piss off your opponent, but play keep away. Remy has low health (like Twelve bad) which is his biggest disadvantage, but as long as you stay back (out of sweep range or so), and only get in when its a good option to take. I know you'll want to get in, but you have to resist. You want to go in and cause big damage, huge combos, supers, etc, but don't do it often (unless of course your opponent leaves himself wide open to it). Use the range you have to your advantage. Remy has great pokes and the best projectiles for a reason.bob_arctor said:Also, Lake and MAF, gimme some Remy tips. Been using him enough now to make him my alternate to Hugo (I gave Makoto up since my best friend "co-opted" her from me and now uses her to death, and I HATE "shadow" matches on top of that).
He has a shoulder tackle (back charge -> forward kick). If you're really good and know how to charge partition, you can pull off a juggle corner combo that goes that charge move like 4 times before they can hit the ground. Urien's game is all about charging and unblockable setups. Now I need to get over my fear of man-thongs.
Also, does he have a charging headbutt/dash punch type move? I know Q has one but I never tried him.

EDIT - I'm not saying never get in, at our level it really don't matter, but I belive Remy is designed for the 'keeping back' style.

That's part of what I'm talking about. Unlike other characters, things that Urien and Remy can do depend on how well you charge partition (this means you've gotta work for it!) I need to get a stick to even attempt to learn how to do that stuff, partitioning with a pad is not easy.yudaan said:I think know what you mean. I saw a vid a while back where a Urien player knocks out Chun Li in a 2 player battle in barely 20 second shortly after he charged up his combo meter. If I remember correclty it involved the opponent in the corner, his shield Super Art and various other attacks that knock opponents back into the air. And by the time the move vanishes the combo meter would be full again so another shield can be used.
Watching that vid gave me arthritis.

Welcome to GAF,
it's a better forum to actually have a conversation about games than Modojo.![]()
Enjoy your stay.
And yeah, there are a lot of SF3: TS people here, which is awesome.

Anyways, you guys should really look up the video of Q vs Chun-Li (Justin Wong)
Forget who plays Q (Japanese Dude), but he just humiliates JW, it's hilarious.
Especially after the fight is over, JW won't even shake his hand. :lol
Kuroda. And I love how Wong loses.MutFox said:Anyways, you guys should really look up the video of Q vs Chun-Li (Justin Wong)

Though he lends himself to a "Turtle" style.
Man that's aweet, over here I only have like 5 buddies that are good at playing 3S,Projectjustice said:I can see there are alot of SF3:TS fans here, ive always been pretty active over at SRK. This past friday i got together with a bunch of SRK posters and had a 3s gathering in the City. You can check that thread out here, http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97135&page=3 we had 2 huge wall plasma TV going and lots of competition. I played 3s for about 4 hours that night. negitoro7 said:I still can't believe that Justin Wong bishi-bashed the heck out of his controls during Daigo's parrying of his Chun SA2.
That fucker attempted to get Daigo off his parrying rhythm by doing that or something? He's even more dishonorable than I originally thought.
MutFox said:It just makes Daigo look even more superior.
Justin Wong sucks anyways, his strategy has been totally destroyed.

Oh, another good video is Hugo (Hayao) vs. Chun-Li (KO). (Atleast I think it's KO.)
Holy crap, Hayao basically tech hit's everything,
the end of the fight is just as epic as the EVO2k4 Daigo vs. JW fight.
If I had somewhere to upload the video I would.boutrosinit said:THIS POST IS USELESS WITHOUT EINEN LINK!!!!!
robojimbo said:Like LakeEarth said, Remy isn't a "turtle" character. He has a very good, if predictable, offense. Rush down, but stay just out of range. Standing MP is a good early AA, standing MK goes over most low attacks, c.MP is an excellent poke to use in combination with fisbees. c.MK has some good range on it, but only do it from maximum distance as it can be countered even if it hits if done too close. c.LK and s.LK are good quick moves to keep yourself distanced. Charge frisbees (and for quick EX flash kicks) while you're throwing out other moves. Keeps you on the offense while charging.
Remy has the ability to control space pretty easily with his frisbees and the cold blue kick (is that a VJ term? you know what I mean). EX Flash kick is decent AA, but don't overuse it. It's fairly easy to parry and leaves you open for some huge damage.
I don't think anyone mentioned his SA's, but I would say SA1 is the one to use. Easily comboable into after c.LP, c.LP, and a connected c.MP -> low frisbee. And if they do happen to block it, it's generally pretty safe even if parried (I think) unlike SA2. SA2 does more damage, but it comes down to how safe you want to be.
I hope some of this makes sense.
