Shadowrun: Dragonfall |OT| Choose Your Enemies Carefully

Trying to find the music that played during the das kesselhaus mission, while in the club. Can't seem to be able to find it anywhere. Any ideas?

Very nice of you, though I don't think there are many people reading this thread, and the people who do read it, most likely have the game already. Though I see you're a junior and can't create your own thread, maybe ask if a mod can create one for you?

So since the game is on sale (on humblebundle.com) and I've never played shadowrun before, what system is dragonfall in? I want to learn 5th edition, will this help?

Is playing as decker more useful than in the first campaign (DMS)? I'm considering either shaman or decker for my first DF playthrough and can't choose one. Also, what weapon type suits best either type? (it's been over a year since I played through DMS and I don't remember many details about SR's character system)

More useful, yes, but Mage is still the best. (Biased opinion.)

I am finally going to start playing this today.

Any tips? I only played a couple of hours of Shadorun Returns so im a complete noob.

Don't rush in, it's always best to enter a room defensively. If you have any SRPG experience, it comes in handy here. And Mages are awesome, like always.

Bought it last week on GoG and I'm pleasantly surprised. I expected it to be too complex for my taste, but it seems easy enough to pick up and play. And being a native Berliner, the scenario is awesome.
I was just wondering, is there a prequel/pre-story that I missed? The MC keeps talking about having known Monika before, is there any way to catch up on that, or is it an intentional part of the story?

It's intentional, Dragonfall is separate from Returns. (Though I still have head-canon that my guy went from Seattle to Berlin, heh.)

Finished Dragonfall, it was a pleasant surprise after the early version of Shadowrun Returns. There's much more content than I expected.

I really hope the engine and Shadowrun series gets developed further. They really need to flesh out the Matrix and other subsystems more. I also wish there were more side-missions to missions to get valuable intel, mission-specific gadgets etc. They need to open up the world a bit more, but Dragonfall was certainly a step in the right direction.

So I just recently finished Shadowrun Returns.

The one thing I did not like was decking (maybe because I wasn't playing a decker as a main character).

Is decking different in Dragonfall? Otherwise I might need to download a trainer / cheat engine script for those sections.

They get more to do in Dragonfall, but gameplay wise, it's pretty much the same.

I currently have 147 spent karma with 1 unspent karma, I need 198 total karma to get the last rank of drone combat, am I going to have that at any point? Is there a NG+ option so I can play through the game again with more competent drones?

No NG+ option, dunno about the max karma.

luckily got that drone combat armor which was a blessing, now I just need to decide between a Physical Adept who uses Melee Weapons or Unarmed for my second playthrough... also should probably try to do a run of Returns at some point...

Started this after finishing Returns.

Went with the classic Street Samurai, only to discover that you get two of them in your team. Thinking about restarting with another class. But what should I go? Monk err I mean Physical Adept? Rigger? I think you get a rigger in your second quest. I'd like to have a class which doesn't overlap my teammates.

No party member does Mage better than the PC.

Shaman, bruh. Get that charisma form all those dialogue options.

Yabbut you already get a relatively competent mage/shaman in Dietrich. Admittedly, a second, more specialised one doesn't hurt, but I'd like to plug a completely missing position.

Relatively competent != adept. Use Dietrich as a summoner and have the MC rain down fire.

Just did Dr. Ezkibel's miniquest.

Man, that was awesome. One of the best sidequests in an RPG ever.

And when the Knight-Kings of Lightninghold theme started on the PA system during the outside battle...

I even had Blitz hack Phil's console to let him watch the final episode of the series.

Err... got a bit of a question.

Did the first quest for Luca Duerr, and then asked Dietrich about The Lodge.

What he told me of them was... less than reassuring.

Now I am conflicted. There's this run with the MK. VI. The Lodge asked me to deliver the prototype in mint condition to them. On the other hand, the phonebooth people asked to get them some stuff from the MK. VI which would damage it. And then there's Herr Fuchs, the guy who called the run in the first place.

Without massive spoilers, who should I go with?

^^^^ Fair 'nuff.

I have another question though, how should I develop my teammates? I've noticed that in many fights Eiger's sniper rifle is pretty hard to use due to its minimum range penalties.

Yeah, the sniper has that problem, it's even worse in Hong Kong. Mainly you just want to diversify though. Have a few people that can take damage, a mage to buff/control/blow stuff up, a decker, riggers are nice but not necessary IMO. It's also really nice to have some extra etiquettes on your main character. So pick skills that complement each other and avoid too much overlap.

Glory's usually my tank. She also has the highest armour. I've put all her special points in her claws, since pistols are a bit underpowered, more of a decker/rigger/shaman's fallback weapon than a main.

I've developed Eiger as a sniper and the results have so far been a bit mixed. When she hits she really does damage, but she tends to whiff occasionally due to min. range penalties.

Should I buy cyberware? I didn't use it in Returns. Doc Ezkibel has a good selection of stuff after I liberated his counterfeit ware from the ruined lab, but the good stuff is expensive, while the cheaper stuff doesn't seem worthwhile.

Also, should I top up the Alice account from my own pocket or should I just keep doing missions?

Lastly, what sort of weapon discipline do launchers use?

Cyberware is always good when you're not doing magic. Don't add anything to the Alice account, just play the missions. And no clue about launchers.

Regarding etiquettes, what are the most useful ones?

I did the Azzie run and noticed that Corp and Sec are absolutely necessary if you don't want to wade through waves of KE mooks, but apart from those, which are good picks? My troll only has 6 Cha (race max) so picked Shadowrunner as the third, but didn't see many situations where it came in handy (apart for the ghoul thing).

Yup, I usually go corp, security and shadowrunner. Gang is useful as well.

Hong Kong does a better job of making all the etiquettes useful.

Which one's the better melee weapon? Dragon Sword or Laser Axe? Sword allows you more special attacks, but axe hits harder.

Oh, and managed to pull the AG Chem run by giving both Duerr and Stockwellen Reiter the goods they requested. I really like that you can find alternate ways to get stuff done.

What teammate combo should I use for the final mission? Is the flying turret useful?

EDIT: oh, and from my experiments launchers don't use any sort of specific weapon discipline. They use the generic Ranged Combat ability, or at least that's how it seemed to me.

Finished the game. Planning on re-starting with another build. Or maybe loading a slightly older save game. Like, say, choosing the violent option for Glory.

A question regarding the ending: does the final conversation with
Hans Brackhaus
change the ending screen in some way?

After spending a few years in my backlog, I decided to boot this up and I'm loving it.
I do have some questions though. My main is a decker, and I have NFI how to *deck*. I upgraded my dude to use assault rifles so he can actually kill people now, but I really suck at decking and not sure how to build my character to be more effective at it. Got any tips?

Thanks
