ShadPS4 x Driveclub has made some insane progress these past couple weeks

I guess this is beyond emulation. Would require a proper 4k texture pack.
Doesn't the emulator already support custom textures? I remember seeing HD texture packs for Bloodborne, but I could be mistaken.

Indeed

There's also patches to disable CA and motion blur

Weird, mine don't even boot the game.

I messed with it for an hour 2 and had the same problem. Black screen. Lots of bullshit on the log that I looked up and honestly couldn't find any info. Today I added firmware 11.0 modules to a certain folder and all the sudden I was in-game no problem. During the intro race everything was pretty ok until a few seconds in my graphics went dark but UI was still visible. I dunno, that's all I've done and I will keep messing with it some more. This was really lack of reading instructions on my part lol. They straight up say to get the fuckin modules from your PS4.

Where do i get firmware 11.0 ?

Wasn't this a hacked PS5 running Driveclub at 60fps or a PS4 emulator?

I remember PS4 emulator just by running Bloodborne eating a absurd amount of VRAM.

For a platform that is both x86, built around hardware that is not too custom and almost 12 years old I will be in the minority that is dissapointed in PS4 emulation progress in general. Plus DC is an early game without heavy use of custom gamecode and libraries. Same could be said about Bloodborne that still has problems despite a lot of efforts to emulate this game specifically.

It's... Sad? Console launch-alighned RPCS3 (11 years after PS3 release) was way more capable and stable with way more games and MGS4 running from start to finish in solid 60 on a good Ryzen chip. And we're talking about the abomination that is CELL architecture.

In theory PS4 emulation doesn't even require that huge of a HW overhead due to low basic specs and way more common x86 architecture of PS4, and yet ShadPS4 is still in it's infancy. I hope there will be some breakthrough soon though.

Disagree hard. RPCS3 took a looooong time to get the kinds of visual playability that ShadPS4 got in a fraction of the time. Hell, there are still tons of bugs and crashes in RPCS3 in some of the most iconic games, and it runs like hot dog shit. I have a Ryzen 9950x3D and an RTX 5090, should be a breeze right? Wrong. RDR still runs like ass even at native resolution. Want to upres to 4k? Oops! That affects CPU bound performance for some dumb reason, say goodbye to a locked 30 fps now! Nevermind the tons of flickering, glitched shadows, models missing vertices especially in the face, etc. That emulator had promise but it's been dead in the water for years.

Agree to disagree I guess. It's not a shot at this particular emulator, more like frustration why it took so long to even start developing one.

Source for that? Traditionally with ShadPS4 you need a patch to apply resolution changes.

*Edit, you're right you need a patch. This just affects literally the window size and fullscreen size.

AFAIK this changes your resolution in-game?

Can't wait to play this on my next Xbox.

Don't think my current Mini PC would run it too well.

Just tried the latest from that video I posted above, can confirm it works amazingly well. Still missing effects and things like that but really impressive progress in such short time.

Here's some DC bikes footage from myself. No idea why it crashes after about 2:20 every time I play though. Love the handling in this and sense of speed still. I did some things and really didn't think it would crash on this record but, still did. Dunno what to try. 3 second load times is pretty crazy though too
*Think I fixed the crashing! Just played a 9 minute race in the Elements tour and got through the whole thing. Played a random tour with the bike as well and completed it.

Definitely fixed my issue.

Seriously load times are insane on this, like 3 seconds, I had a race load even quicker.

something is off. The resolution is too low, and some artifacts in the race. I get its a work in progress and that's amazing by itself. but this needs a 4k patch or something. very fuzzy

There's a lot of stuff off. Lots of post processing effects, grass, parts of the sky, certain reflections, missing shadows, headlight shadows, motion blur etc, are missing.

This is fantastic. Really hope they will manage to optimize it to get to rock stable 60fps on normal CPUs (say, 5800x and above) and without any missing effects.

I can't wait to get a proper computer in the next 10 years and blast this on 120 Fps with 8K textures someday. DriveClub is divine. Look at it, it has personality to this day.

Meanwhile, "Built from the ground up"...

Forza Motorsport "is no more", according to a former employee at Turn 10 Studios, though the Horizon series will continue.

Fred Russell, who worked at the studio as content coordinator for four years until 2016, shared a post on Facebook with images from across his time working on the series. "Turn 10 Studios has shuttered the Forza Motorsport space and the team is no more," he said. "A very sad day for one of the best car racing video games. I loved my time there."

In a follow-up reply, Russell added: "Forza Horizon will continue at this point." Another reply from Russell states "the studio is open to support the Horizon side… shuttered the Forza Motorsport side only."
