ShadPS4 x Driveclub has made some insane progress these past couple weeks



Looks amazing, "almost perfect", no idea what's missing.
I expect Crash Team Racing will make some waves when it starts running on ShadPS4. That's a game PC players wanted for six years now (It's not happening, probably).


Still lacking 4k rendering. Once it gets that this'll be incredible
 
CTR has a 60fps patch for exploited PS5, so the patch is ret2go when it starts working in ShadPS4. Switch version can be patched to 60 on emulators, or even uncapped for 240fps, but it looks like crap.

Exactly why I never bothered with the Switch version. I should look into exploited PS5, I'm still on sort of old firmware, no idea about any of it though.

CTR on 60 fps would be the game of all times for me. Incredibly pleasuring to play.
I also miss fucking much Driveclub. Its one of best racing games they had, I prefer this 100x more than GT.
 
We live in the era of nanite, path tracing, etc. IQ sucks all the time now.

Yea same people say the IQ sucks while praising Clair Obscure probably. Or people playing at less than 1440p reconstructed on consoles with the softest shit you ever seen.

If we had similar upscaling techniques back then as we do now, we'd have had 720p FSR 60fps performance mode on base PS4, 1080p native 30fps quality mode, and a 1080p FSR 40fps balanced VRR mode.

DC was rocking 45fps unlocked on base PS4 but devs locked it. If only they'd have made an option to unlock for future purposes.

They locked it in part because of comments from the DF team.

At least the team behind Infamous:Second Son made the frame rate lock optional, so now you can play this game at 60fps (it's rather boring, but at least you can play it).

Don't think so. No one has even made a mod for 1440p or 4k yet either which is kind of weird. Even if performance was awful is it that hard (genuinely curious? People have made camera view mods already, put bikes with cars on same race, Ultrawide resolutions, etc.

I mean it was obvious an unlocked FPS that hovers around 30-45fps should be locked to 30 at that time ya know? We would have had terrible screen tearing.

Kind of forgot about Infamous SS. But I do remember it had 2 modes locked/unlocked. I meant to pick that up for PS5 but forgot. I really enjoyed it when it came out, I never played the previous Infamous games. Always liked Prototype 1 and 2 and thought Infamous wouldn't stack up.
 
They had their own Forza Horizon right in front of them
Yes, but sadly the game got too delayed, still released uncomplete and broken, and tanked in sales like their previous big project, Motorstorm Apocalypse (which got unlucky of getting released just after a devastating earthquake/tsunami in Japan, so avoided to properly promote it).

On base consoles? I guess you could make that argument.

On PC? Hell no. DLSS 4 is incredible.


Even on console though, games pretty much always look better than the old 900-1080p/30fps standard of old.

Looks nice. 60fps is what the game always needed.

Hopefully we'll be able to push it to 4k soon enough.

And maybe tweak the fov a little. The hood and bumper cams are awful in the original.

Nah, even compared to locked 30, 40ish FPS is more responsive and it annoys me less than an artificially low FPS, when you have so few FPS you take all you can!
 
Evolution Studios 😔 They were a stones throw away from where I currently live.

Sony sure cut a lot of studios this past 15 years and canned a lot of IP in the process... but yeah lets keep acquiring slop like Haven and Bungie 😆 🤣 😂

I'd play a DC remaster on PS5 Pro day 1.

Sony execs have their heads so far up their asses this gen.

Even with the licensing issues, this is an easy money grab. Change the OST entirely, re-negotiate deals with manufacturers if needed and port the damn thing.

I'm not a lawyer, but in this day and age, everything is basically free advertising. I'm sure a big corporation like Sony (who already has deals for GT) could work something out.
 
sorry I don't see that under debug setting, I do see a readback speeds under experimental

You need activate "readback" in the debug settings.
I'd didn't use to be the cas it ran without it now if you don't activate it it won't boot and the performance has take A huge penalty with this option enabled, hopefully it won't be necessary in the future
 
It's probably the same. Try the different readbacks settings out. It is even mentioned in the description it has something to do with Driveclub.
