Czechia here. Very hot outside. Usually 34+°C . It's killing me. I know it's summer, but man, this is too much. Rivers and lakes are basically "out of water". And it doesn't seem like it's going to get better soon.

I was reading the pre-hype thread for The Dark Knight Rises at work, and out of nowhere, someone spoiled the entire plot. It had been leaked days before the release, and I got spoiled big-time for a movie I was incredibly hyped for. It was literally my first time ever reading GAF

I looked at my joining date, which I can see yours is 29th September 2020, then from the advanced search did a search on my own posts between then and a few months after. Also, click the option to order it by date to make it easier to find the oldest one.

I was a member of the old GAF forums long before we became NeoGAF, but I don't think any of those posts or threads still exist?

The first post I can find from me on the "new" NeoGAF forum is this:

Was in a thread about EA cutting 117 jobs. How little things have changed, lol.

You know, the forum does have an advanced search which makes it very easy to find posts from long ago? Took me all of two minutes to find my first post here. 🤨

Sounds to me like the Ex moved away from her support network, so she is looking for a security blanket until she gets to know people in her new location. That blanket would be YOU. Sounds like you have some rose tinted memories of her, and that your current GF isn't gonna be a permanent fixture no matter what.

So you could always cruise up there, get her a bit drunk, and see if some nostalgia sex comes out of it! Maybe those old flames will be rekindled, and maybe she put on 40 pounds :P

seems a bit silly for a first post, and it was several months after I joined so I must have lurked for quite some time.
 
I lurked here for years and gained a deep appreciation for NeoGAF as it weathered the storm of the exodus it went through and become more of an apolitical board. I saw new member accounts were being accepted so I made an account and was lucky to have it accepted. I don't want to sound cheesy but I really respect how it's still going strong and has set itself apart from other places by distancing itself from political discourse. I think we live in transformative times, a lot of things aren't right but it's nice to have an old fashioned message board that is active where you can discuss gaming and other hobbies that is largely free from the division and anger that comes with political conversation.

I'm grateful for this board and the people that keep it active!

Asked a question in a thread about whether Age of Empires 2 HD was ever fixed. Got no reply. I never loaded the game back up so I never did find out. But ya know, they went and did the Definitive Edition some years later so I'm guessing not. Guess what, didn't buy that one, now did I? Anyway thanks for nothing GAF. I should have taken my horse business elsewhere after that level of disrespect!

Evening, Gentlemen, I present myself with a new identity, Agave. I go by many names from many users around the digital landscape, for I travel a hell of a lot throughout the Internet. Multiple generations of social media for years. Sadly the last one didn't go so great, so I had to leave that behind, and I figured my comrades would be better off without me, since now I feel like I'm seen as a bourdon or a pathetic loser to be picked on (however you interpret it). A shame, really, I owned a Digital Coffee Shop there; it was pretty popular, but that's just a natural problem I always face with each family, you just don't know how long you'll be there with them- but it's whatever, after the 7th generation you just have to adapt to the pain, otherwise the best piece of advice you'll ever get is to just move on or don't cry about it. While everything feels numb, it'll never be enough for me to turn bad, for one day I'll keep searching for a place I can belong to, maybe it's this one, or maybe I'll live long enough to see another group of people I once loved go shallow and suffer through their hatred again. I plan to share stories of my past for I'm currently experiencing a dilemma that I have to return to one of my old homes, and for once, try to fix the thing I've left broken for years. I have only so much time left before the worst comes, but enough of that tho, this place looks nice, very similar to my last home. Hope to see what more this town offers

However no offense, considering you guys just have an introduction thread, and not a whole section, I doubt anyone will see this and be interested🤝

Here, back in 2015. A few weeks after creating my account actually.

I was talking about my favorite stage in Metroid Prime 2 (Upper Torvus), about how the beam ammo system works well actually, but that it could have used more balancing (Annihilator kinda sucks). Incidentally, my opinion's largely unchanged. I think a little more highly of Annihilator but still wish it had more juice.
 
When Final Fantasy 13 was announced for Xbox 360, It was chaos over here I didn't even have an account but I just lurked it was so funny, people were actually losing their damn minds 😂
 
Honestly can't recall what I posted when it was still just GAF in 2000/2001. I remember threads on PS2 vs Gamecule polygon counts and Dale Earnhardt's crash and death but I didn't join until later in the year.

Probably had to do something in an off-topic thread as there was no separate Off Topic section back then.

October 21 2022 in an "Introduce Yourself" thread cause I was part of a wave coming in. So friendly! I fell out of love with Playstation and God of War since then though, and now don't play any Xbox but added Steam Deck.

I've been playing games for 30 years, mostly on console. I love Nintendo, Playstation, and a little bit of Xbox Game Pass (don't care for PC gaming). Switch / PS5 / Series S here.

My favorite franchises are Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mario, Dragon Quest, and God of War. So you'll see me pretty active in discussions on any of those! But I also love any action adventures, RPGs, platformers, indie games, and the occasional racer here and there. Fighting games and real time strategy are not my jam.

Looking forward to getting to know people and have some good discussions! I've been lurking for a week waiting for my account to be approved and this seems a lot more my type of place than a certain other board that won't be named..."

If you use the advanced search you can search using some more specific criteria like a date range. Using the date you joined and searching between then and a few months after (accounts usually take a little bit to get approved) you can find your first post in a couple of minutes.
