I remember watching that episode and being like wtf. You can tell Vince was thinking the same thing during that hug. The upside is that it gave us coked out DX HBK when he came back, but sheesh.
 
I think Shawn Michaels beat us. In one swoop we all just get incredibly gayed out. And not the funny gay. The weird get it off me gay.

"Hey Scott, long time reader. I went to Barnes And
Noble the other day and saw Shawn Michaels book on
sale so i decided to read it to see how it was. I
know there isn't a lot of love for Shawn in the iwc
but I read with an open mind. All I gotta say is Alan
Moore has been replaced as the greatest fiction writer
in history because half of the stuff Shawn writes
seems to contradict every little thing we've read on
the net, here's a list:

1. The Clique didn't have any political power
backstage, they just happened to get an audience with
Vince all the time.

2. He thinks the reason the belt was taken off Kevin
Nash and put on Bret was to "Shake things up" even
though, and he really wrote this, "the company was to
starting to pick up late in Kevins' reign."

3. Those dirty wrestling dirtsheets are bad, BAD,
says Shawn.

4. His knee really was hurt, honest, and he was so
sad he didn't smile that often, hence the term lost my
smile.

5. The reason Trips is always main eventing and such
a central part of the show has nothing to do with
being married to the bosses daughter, nothing, no
siree. Even though Shawn doesn't really explain why.

6. Bret is a big jerk, the biggest of all, seriously.
Ask Shawn.

7. He was always willing to put over anyone, at a
moments notice, and him not being at wrestlemani 13
had nothing to do with not wanting to put over Bret,
see #4 for the reason.

8. He doesn't remember what exactly happened in
Syracuse all he remembers was him being at a club them
waking up at a hospital.

9. He thought the MSG curtain call WAS authorized by
Vince otherwise he wouldn't have done it.

Those are just some of the many facts I learned
straight from the source himself. Everything you've
heard about him in those dirty dirtsheets are wrong
and untrue. There's a conversation that he recapped
between him and Vince concerning Bret that no recap
can do it justice but, let me just say it makes him
sound like the bigest pansy on earth. I didn't read
it all. I started at around the 92-93 timeline, but
once i started i couldn't put it down not because it
was that enthralling but because as soon as i was
ready to put it down he'd come right back and shoot
down another IWC rumor. Can you post this on your
blog? I'd love to see what your readers have to say
on this.

Yeah, he already covered a lot of this stuff in his shoot interview with RF Video, and then contradicted a good chunk of what he already said in a later Off the Record interview once he found Jesus. Nice to know he's going back to his previous version of things again, which was much more entertaining and made it easier to hate him.
