My reaction to every line of that article was basically "LOL WHAT??"

I like Shia, but this shit is just so dumb. >_< How did it come to this? I hope that there isn't actually something wrong with him, because this behavior is just way too bizarre.

I've been wondering, and what if this is indeed a cry for help? What if he has some serious problems, including been an art work klepto and no one is there to help him.

I mean, look at Amanda Bynes. She was AAAALLLL over the place acting, tweeting etc like a fool. Turns out she had (if everything is to be believed) some serious mental issues, to the point of needing a long stay in a psychiatric facility. It seems she's doing much much better now (again if reports are to be believed). But people just jumped on her calling her crazy bitch and all other sorts of name.

Not that I'm defending him but just giving the notion some space in the conversation.

when apologising you probably shouldn't punctuate it with a hashtag; It looks disingenuous and attention seeking. I do find his little sitting quietly 1 on 1 stunt interesting though. It's like he's too childish to just own up to his mistakes and feels as if he needs a self imposed punishment.

Not that this guy is even remotely comparable and I realize the topic title is joking, but this makes me wonder how people would react to Andy Kaufman today. There are guys like Neil Hamburger, but you see him out of character every once in a while.

It's harmless and interesting to read about. I think that's about the most I can expect from celebrity apologies and to be more to the point I don't care if he apologizes or not, nobody does.

Wasn't something like this done before in the 1960's or 70's?

I know a performance artist stood motionless in a room and on the table in front of him were weapons like a knife and a loaded gun which the audience were encouraged to pick up.

Anyone know who that was?

EDIT - I think it might of been Ulay and Marina Abramovic.

I live in LA and went with a few of my friends yesterday. I didn't actually line up (line was huge and I don't particularly give a hoot), but a couple of my buddies made it in. They both said he kept the paper bag on, which made me doubt it was actually Shia....but I guess that picture above proves it.

Anyway, my friend allegedly looked him dead in the eyes and said "I don't like Transformers or Indiana Jones 4...but that's not because of you. You're just caught in the crossfire..... Shia, it's not your fault". He then went on to repeat "it's not your fault" a few more times, each time with an increasing sincerity... never breaking eye contact. He swears that Shia gave him the tiniest nod of thanks before he left.

Gotta give him credit for going all out on his "I planned it all from the start" crusade. He can't be very smart if he thinks it's going to work, though.

Since my brother is studying and busting his ass off in performance arts it does pisses me off this guy to get so easily an art exhibition and everything basically just because of fame.

My brother has been pretty dissapointed about his career, this certainly isn´t going to help.
