Well, there's this:I don't recall the title having 'Episode 1' on it.
So I take they are working on a sequel?
Some needless 4K video of Black Label Arrange's 1st stage post patch.

On another note, Trouble Witches runs like butter. It has some weird default controller settings and lacks resolution settings, but other than those minor things it is excellent.
I'm slowly making progress in both Mushi and DDPR. I think at the moment I prefer Mushihimesama. Maybe it's the style or the straightforward approach with its bullet patterns. I love both but at this point I hope Futari is the next game on steam. Collecting insect gems feels sooo satisfying!
I wish Mushi would run as smooth as DDPR. Is the choppy framerate emulated that way?
I've been working on a VR project for a while now and finally put it up on Greenlight yesterday, it's called Horizon Vanguard. The goal is to combine what I love about arcade STGs with modern VR tech. You control a hoverbike and move around a 3:4 playfield (always blasting ahead), firing forward with your bike's gun while using a VR motion controller like a light gun and shooting targets out of the sky. PC VR only for now, though I'd love to release on PSVR some day.

WOW, this actually really helped! It's much much much more smooth now.If you have not already, go to the games ini and add the below value to enable vsync, for me it made a huge difference in mushi which was incredibly choppy without it.....
Find the Mushihimesama.ini in the install folder eg : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mushihimesama
Then add the below before saving the change.
Vsync=1
This can be applied to all of the cave steam releases, no idea why it isn't a default option.
I get Model 2 feels as wellThat just nails the PS1-era aesthetic. Perfect.

Awesome listHere are some sale picks for the discerning shmupper on a budget. I didn't add pricing as this likely varies between regions, but the percentage discounts should at least be useful. Bear in mind that some of these games also have discounts as part of bundles with DLC or with other games (e.g. there is a Triangle Service Shmups Collection bundle), so you could grab them for a little less that way. Always check the various purchasing options before you pull the trigger!

Also gave Blue Revolver a first try since it came out. What an impressively polished game. Thankfully it doesn't fall into the usual trap of "tribute" games of only looking like the games that inspired it. This actually feels like the love child of DoDonPachi and Battle Garegga.
I keep seeing QP Shooting being mentioned unironically in this thread. Isn't that game trash? And by trash I'm talking about exCeed levels of wannabe-ism. That's exactly what Blue Revolver avoids being, a game that wants to be like its heroes, but can't measure up.
I enjoyed QP Shooting too, but I also enjoyed eXceed 2-3. The first eXceed was rough, but it's from 2002 and Flats first effort. I can play and enjoy rough STGs. Giving those start ups and hobbyist a chance and some playtime might help them to improve in the future. Maybe one of them will become a founder of the next CAVE. Hey and if not, then playing a so-so STG will make me appreciate the really good ones even more.I keep seeing QP Shooting being mentioned unironically in this thread. Isn't that game trash? Gives me strong R-Type Final vibes. Hm, I should play R-Type Final on PCSX2 again! The developers from Eschatos are going to release on Xbox One - 2017? (it was announced in 2014, but...)
Natsuki Chronicles
Exclusive? I wonder if it'll come to STEAM eventually like Eschatos did.
I don't think it's a paid exclusive, just a "we don't have the money to support more than one platform at once" exclusive.
Microsoft said that they NEED japanese developers, so could be they have helped, somehow, the developers.
Hey guys, I haven't been keeping up with the shmup scene much. I'm aware of the slim pickings on the U.S. PSN store, but is there anything I should check out on the JP store?
