Title.

What's the shortest time you have ever owned a system for?

My was 7 days back in December 2022 I bought a series X with FH5 I was super excited to play the game and for the first 5 days I was enjoying it but around 6 day I just lost interest and started to think what I should do with the system and game.

On day 7 my options were take it back to were i bought it from, throw it away(crazy I know) or give it to someone.

I went with options 3 and call my sister since her 12 year old son wanted a ps5 but they had no problem in taking the series x and fh5 game and till this day they still have the system so it wasn't a complete waste on mu part.

My first 360 for 1 week, you all know why...

Wii, took it back after 30 mins. Excuse was it didnt work with my projector. But in fact the Wii was too low quality output.

Same. 3-4 days. Sent in to repair the 3 red lights.

#1 for the most expensive and least amount of time playing goes to PS5 Pro. Played Demon's Souls for 20 min. Realized again I have no cloud saves because Sony sucks. Haven't touched it since launch. $700 too lol

I usually keep my systems but I did sell my Xbox Series X a few months ago, but even then I had it for about 3 years prior.

Wii u

Bought it day one for the new zelda game.
We all know what fucking happened.

Lost my shit when nintendo told what was happening so i rage sold my wii u and got an xbox one x to basically play all the console exclusives.

Then passed it to my lil sis so she had a 4k bluray player

Wii.

I never cared about Nintendo games, but the Wii seemed unique so I bought it... I ended up enjoying only 4 games: Monster Hunter Tri, The Last Story, Rune Factory Frontier and Pandoras Tower.

After finishing those and disliking everything else I realised that Nintendo is not for me, so I sold the console in less than a year.

Xbox one X, had it maybe for 2 months, played rare replay, then i sold it to colleague and upgraded pc a bit

Dude I still feel so bad, I don't know why but before my family went on a vacation they bought me a Game Gear with Sonic in 1996, it wasn't a birthday thing or anything like that it was just supporting me with an idea this would keep me busy. I had for a whole 2 days before we left the hotel with it behind in the room. Must have cost my dad the equivalent of 459 euros. They wern't even very angry with me, probably blamed themselves. I only remember playing sonic in the car and not liking it so much. Many years later I got an N64 my first real console. But there is an alternative universe where i'm a sega fanboy.

I wouldn't say 'owned' as I dont sell them, but the shortest anything has been bought, played then sat in a drawer forever is my switch, I played 1 game, for a week. That was it.

I sold my N64 after 9 months or so. Only console I ever sold because I didn't care for it. Mario 64 was fun but aside from that I really didn't want to play games on it.

Around 12-13 hours. Purchased a DS on the release day after work, played some Metroid for an hour, thought wtf is that garbage (especially when knowing how games on the PSP will look, that was about to released some time later) and returned it the next day before going to work.

Got a PSP imported from Japan some time later. No regrets.

I bought a 360 when the only game I was playing was FFXI on PS2, to upgrade. A few days/week later, I decided I was done with FFXI, so I returned it.

Then, I got the urge to get back, so I rebought it. Eventually, had 3 seperate RRODs.

Bought a console and game, enjoyed it for 6 days, gave it away on day 7.

Cool story!
Its no story I don't own a gaming pc and I wanted to play FH5 so buying a SX was the next best option.

I'm not the biggest fan of Xbox but I can over see that when it comes to a racing game I like.

if handheld is accepted, the Gameboy Advance
i didn't like the low brightness of the screen, changed for a Gamecube in less than a week

Xbox 360 November 2005 to July 2008, had RROD 3 times over this period and Microsoft did't want to fix the fucker for free anymore. 3 months later I had got a PS3 because the price had dropped by then and never went back to Microsoft consoles.

3DS XL - Had it probably for a year.
Replaced it with a Vita. Never looked back. Some may find that stupid, but
Vita is life

X360 gets so much hate.. I bought a X360 Arcade, supposedly it has an updated board, still works like a charm.
I had 3 PS3 consoles failing on me. YLOD launch model, 1 Slim with red blinking or whatever and 1 more with NEC capacitors broken.
I ended up getting a Super Slim that works perfectly.

On topic: I had a used Gamecube for a month or so then sold it and bought a Wii because it had BC.

Wii.

I was a big fan of the GameCube so I thought Wii was gonna be a smash hit for me. But after Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 I realized the console wasn't for me. The motion controls were awful and a lot of games outside Nintendo were just embarrassing shovelware. I gave it away to my nephew after about 18 months but he didn't like it either. I skipped the whole Wii-era because I didn't find Nintendos hardware attractive any more. Switch brought me back in and made me a big fan again but Nintendo is already losing me with the Switch 2 pre-release shenanigans they pulled.

PS3.

I got a PS3 a month after the European launch. I had Virtua Fighter 5 on it, Resistance and a few multiplatform titles.

it's those multiplatform titles that made me sell it real fast.
Spider-Man 3. I had the PS3 for a month, and it became more and more apparent how much of a downgrade the PS3 was compared to the 360 in basically every way that was important.

Spider-Man 3 was the nail in the coffin for me. I had it on PS3, my cousin on 360. I saw the 360 version in person and instantly decided to sell the PS3. put it on ebay the next day and bought a 360 with a bunch of games from the money (I got almost full price for it back, which was nice)

so I owned it for a bit more than a month.
I later bought one again after a few years, to get some of the exclusives.
but the PS3 just was so behind the times when it launched, it was actually insane.

PSP,for about a year. Portables just arent for me. Hell I forgot the last time I used my Switch in portable mode. Its basically a home console to me.

Atari Jaguar & CD32, though I regret selling both to this day. I bought them the day in 1995 (in a Rumberlows closing down sale) and sold them both on the same day in 2005 when raising money for a new LCD for my then brand new Xbox 360
